2013 is about to be history but we have one more weekend before those old calendars come down. Lets make this weekend count!

I hope you all had a pleasant Christmas and Holiday time this past week. I received no model railroad items specifically but I did get a Menards gift card and that will certainly come in handy for future model RR projects.

With Christmas now behind me, I can finally return my work to the B&M layout. My plan is to finish up work on Google Earth to get some last measurements then start transferring them to one of the modules. Once happy with where my mainline will set, I'll carefully add my two inch high risers and cut then secure the 1/2" sub-roadbed to the risers. I also need to finish my special corner module that will allow me to go around the corner and link up to Concord NH. If I have time, I'll install the risers and sub-roadbed for Concord too. I also moving and organizing the last bits of my storage unit into a bigger one this weekend, so I'll see where that leaves me with time.

So how about you? How does this last weekend of 2013 look for you? Will you be busy laying track for new layouts in 2014? Maybe getting things spruced up on your current layout for the upcoming New Year. Whatever your plans are, let us know! We'll be back on Monday the 30th to see how we all did. Until then, have a happy and safe last weekend of 2013 and...

    High Greens!

First, a Happy New Year to everyone, even if it's a bit early.

I've started looking at the scenery for the tannery, but first, there's that annoying hump on the double-track main line that loops around it. It was never right, and I never even glued the track down because I knew this day would come. So, over the next week I will be removing that track and the roadbed and leveling the sub-roadbed, which is unfortunately a jumble of foam sections where a lot of odd pieces come together.

Meanwhile, I've got to start putting in ground covers and such around the tannery itself, plus some roads. This is complicated a bit by having most of the tannery on a lift-off, so I'll need to work out the mechanics on that, along with the single electrical connection for structure lighting.

Happy New Year! With Christmas over I can get back to modeling. I got a new HOn30 mini train from bch so now I just need to finish that section on my layout so as to run it. I've been starting a new shopping list so I can get the supplies needed to keep building. I hope to get some done this next week but with the kids home, it may not happen....

I'm starting a layout building fund! Donations appreciated :teeth:

Seriously, I've been sorting through my collection and have found several things I am more than willing to part with to generate cash for building a shed for a new layout. The idea is to build a 6'-6" x 24'-0" extension onto the back of our garage. This will allow for a nice-sized, two-level layout with aisle space in the future.

Ohh the possibilities of that room in Z Scale..... hmmm
