Ah, Friday at last. The term Bittersweet keeps coming up in my posts, so I'm sorry if it seams a bit overused however it is with these words I enjoy yet another one last time activity here in Illinois.

I went ahead and took a much needed break from work this Friday to enjoy a long tradition that my buddy Brian have done for ten to fifteen years now. A tradition we call, Good Friday, Great Railfanning. We have railfaned almost every Good Friday for many years, with the former Santa Fe Transcon being the focus of our attention. Of course this will be our last Good Friday, Great Railfanning here in Illinois, hence the overused word, bittersweet. Jess is already to go and soon I'll be on the road to Railfan from Toluca, Illinois to Galesburg for a fun day of trains and bull sessions.

Saturday: it's back to work. I want to finish Brian's last three O scale cars and have them ready next week. It's supposed to be 80 here tomorrow so depending on how work goes, I may indulge in a bit of Topless Jeep behavior and take Angela somewhere for date night.

Sunday: will have me working on my Inglenook project. I need to get a lot done for its first public showing in a few weeks.

So how about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. We'll assemble once again on Monday the 17th to see how we all did. Until then, have fun, stay safe and as always...

    Happy Easter

After doing taxes & family plans, I hope to get some cable reel kits (Osborne models) built for my power & light module. These will help me fill my parts yard area. Things will look better for the Ohio N scale meet that way. I'll post some pics later.

I'd also like to use my new passenger cars decals, but that may be too much for a busy weekend.

Well, with this being Easter weekend - not sure how much I'll get done. Sunday is out for sure -- perhaps tomorrow I'll make some progress. Maybe, I'll just stick to messing around with my ESU programmer - try and get it figured out.

Happy Easter and ya'll have a great weekend,
    Wolf

That dang backdrop is still haunting me. I'd really like to get it done this weekend. Seems like a good one, really. I received my "fine dark brown" ballast, so I'll be mixing that with the "way too light" grey ballast and seeing what it looks like on the layout. If it works out, then I'll consider starting on ballasting at least the yard.

    Happy Easter, y'all!

We have overnight "company coming" later tomorrow afternoon dinner and then services Sunday AM. I also had off today. So I figure between today, tomorrow AM, and Sunday afternoon, I can do the following:
    1. Brace the wall behind Albemarle City. It is time lay track there and the back drop is wobbly because it does not go to the ceiling, yet is 16' long. I've test braced it in the middle and it works, so I want to permanently get that in this weekend.
    2. Start repairing the large buildings I had in storage for so long. I'll take one building at a time.
    3. Put in ties between rail joints. I've got quite a bit of track in and need to around and start filling in ties.

No big, glitzy picture chores this weekend, but "stuff" that needs to happen to move this puppy along.
