By now, I'm sure any of us who have kids have those kids back in school. Seems hard to believe that summer is winding down. What is on your to-do list this weekend?

Despite the fact that my airplane persona has been busy of late, I plan to start up work again on my joint project for next years Galesburg RR Days. The joint project is N scale CB&Q based and will consist of 8 4-foot X 18-inch modules. Almost like a free-mo style of module. The modules will depict the Q in Illinois around the mid 1960's up until the merger. I have all the lumbar for four of the modules so I plan to "kit" the lumbar into four straight modules so when my buddy comes down in September, we can get the straights built and then focus on the corner modules in October.

So how about you? What do you have planned in the hobby room this weekend? Track work, DCC, paint and decals? Let us know. We'll come back here on Monday the 25th and see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend and...

I've patched and lettered over a dozen freight cars throughout the week. Getting tired of that...

    I did patch and number a GP9 as Chicopee Road #2153, GP30 #3331 and a C420 #2902.

As for weekend plans, I'm hoping to locate my pin vise, been looking for weeks, I have several projects stacked up because of that.

My wife is doing a "women's retreat" on Nantucket, so I've got the weekend to myself. I'll be buying a couple of pieces of lumber and hopefully getting another "domino" built, stained and polyurethaned by Sunday night so it won't be smelly by the time I move it into the train room. I'll have to do some furniture re-arranging, too, as the new section would otherwise be over the couch.

I hope to relax, watch some football and maybe the Vuelta a Espana bicycle race, if it's on. That will give me some time to pull out the workboard with the truss bridge superstructure and assemble that while letting the TV rot my mind.

Started working in the train room after a hot summer this past week. Glued down some more roadbed. Plans for Saturday (now that I have them off for the next 6 months) will be glue down more road bed, track, build a structure, and clean up the bench work to layout more track.
