Seems hard to believe, but we are pulling up to the last weekend of August. Better get this train moving!

My Saturday will be spent on a soccer field and since I'm currently unemployed, I will start my weekend today by getting four straight modules "kitted". I have a joint N scale project that I'm working on with a fellow N scaler that we are planning to unveil at either next Spring's Decatur show or most positive, Galesburg RR Days. To maximize our time, I plan to take all the raw material and cut it into a module kit. This will hopefully allow us to spend some time at the Decatur show in a few weeks as well as enjoy some time at Monticello's RR Days. Sunday I plan to go through some more of my N scale and see what projects I can get written up and put in a database for future articles. Monday of course is Labor day. I plan to just relax and spend some time with family, something that is relaxing and I never grow tired of.

So how about you? What do you plan to do this long unofficial end to summer? Track work, DCC, burgers on the grill? Let us know! We'll all come back on Tuesday the 2nd since Monday is Labor day. Until then, have a happy and safe long weekend and...

Burgers on the grill sound perfect. So do steaks on the grill and lobster in the big propane-fired pot outside.

It's time to glue down the track and set up the lift-off bridge to Phase 3. I got the bus wiring in the newest module done last night, and I ran a temporary wire across the gap to test it. Power is there, and a pair of pliers across the bus tripped the breaker, so I should be good to go. When the liftoff bridge is done, there will be plugs and jacks at each end. For now, there will be no power to Phase 3 unless the bridge is in place. I don't like that arrangement, but the alternative is running bus wires across the carpeted floor, and I like that even less.

At some point, I have to sit down and put together the superstructure for the truss bridge. The deck is built and usable. For some reason, I just can't seem to get motivated to build this. Hopefully, once I get started on it again the enthusiasm will come back.

After that, I'll be laying track to the staging yard!

Finishing off main street. Have to work all weekend but when I get off my time will be spent making the modular section for my main part of town. Wiring lights and trying to get some soundbites to make it come alive in a bit.
