Ah spring, green grass, baseball, flowers, sunshine and warm weather - is on hold. At least for another month, maybe two depending on where you live. Might as well take advantage of not mowing the lawn and do some model railroad work!

Here in Illinois, they are predicting a snow storm for the weekend. I wont say another, because we have been getting snow storms almost every weekend since New Years and by now this is our new normal. Yes, cabin fever is REALLY getting to me. My goal for this weekend is to get a few things done Saturday before the storm. I ordered some Kato Track for a few T-Trak modules that came in this past week and an order from one of my favorite vendors is waiting for me at the Post Office. With that I can finish up Maywood station. I also want to get to my storage unit and cut up some hard board for my N scale modules I have been working on. If I can get it all done before the ritual of snow and the weekly power outage, I should be good to go.

So how about you? What will you be working on this weekend? Track work, DCC, maybe some scenery? Let us know. We'll come back on Monday March 3rd, (If I have power) and see how we all did. Until then, have a safe productive weekend and...

    Stay Warm!

"Now is the winter of your discontent."

Not mine, though. I will be embracing winter on the ski slopes. No trains this weekend. Monday will be soon enough to curse the snow, because that's when we're supposed to get it. Again.

Or, as Red Green would put it, "The Winter of our Discount Tent"... ;)

This winter is going on and on and on, lingering around like an unwanted house guest that has special nutritional needs and clogs the toilet at least once a day.

All this global warming is a good opportunity to spend some quality time with trains. I just about finished my F7B in CN zebra stripes, matched up to my Athearn F7A. Now I have an AB set in zebra stripes, and another in the old green and yellow freight scheme. I do have to play doctor with the F7A as it has a tendency to move slowly but the motor sounds like it's revving a full speed. Weird.

The F7B had a set of horns, which I didn't need, but did find a home on the recently purchased PA, which didn't have any horns. I'll finish that one up, securing the headlight and making sure that nothing tangles in the mechanism.

So mostly catch-up work this weekend, with a nice hot cup of coffee to keep me warm as I enjoy my favorite hobby.

Train show in ogden this weekend. I will hit that Saturday. Until then work continues on the layout. Working on the mountain infrastructure and found an issue with a switch I am trying to figure out. Other than that, more track.

Laying some track on the secondary line, taking a gander over Walther's Grain Elevator and envisioning a kitbash. That's about all this weekend will allow me with the all the school work I have going on :(
