January is officially at the past half way mark as 2017 keeps rolling along. Today is Inauguration Day in the United States, that's the former colonies to our brothers and sisters in the UK! Regardless of my views or your views to the new President, lets all hope we can come together as a nation and work together for the common good. Now it's also time to see what everyone has planned for the upcoming modeling weekend.

The shop will be busy as I'm trying to finish up the last of the custom paint orders of Illinois. While July is still a few months away, preparations need to be made and getting out all the current projects done is priority one. I hope to get a lot done before the shop closes early at noon for this months operations session on the Galesburg City Job. Dave (PPUIN) as well as one or two more guests are coming over to enjoy a day of switching cars on the Burlington in 1966. As time allows, we'll enjoy refreshments and the standard bull session often associated with model railroaders.

Sunday, I plan to work on any sticky bits that reared its ugly head on the modules the day before as well as hopefully start the Inglenook project I have roped a few guys into. Domestic duties must also be performed and oh yeah, I need to watch my Pats play the Stealers this Sunday. Should be a good game!

So how about you? What do you have on your model railroad to do list? Let us know. We'll all come back on Monday the 23rd. Until then, have a great weekend, stay busy and safe and as always...

    High Greens!

Looks like it'll be a rainy weekend for us. -- I love it!! So, I'll continue with my road signage project. Just received my new sign decal sheets. So, I have started redoing my rail crossing signs. Now they will be closer to the SP type. Sunday is our 35th wedding anniversary -- so, more than likely no modeling that day.

Hope ya'll have a great and safe weekend,
    Wolf

I'm getting some Japanese Star Wars kit by Bandai this weekend. I might do some sci fi modeling!

I had the day off for Inauguration Day, so I spent some time weathering and detailing a warehouse. We're supposed to have more rainy weather rolling through all weekend, so I'm sure I'll get more done on structures. This is badly needed, because I tend to get a building 80% done and then it sits that way forever.

Not a lot this weekend. I have to go out of town Sunday on "bid-ness" and Sunday NOTHING will get done. Tomorrow, I may get the reversing loop reconnected to the Digitrax system after reconfiguring the track. Would also like to progress the bridge work tomorrow. But nothing of significance this weekend.

With Framing completed last weekend but... "honey-do-list" superseded further work last week.

This weekend begins just a simple sitting of the structures on the table top to comprehend actual sizing to the paper track layout and marking out the track plan. If all looks good then on to elevations.

I think I have finalized and I am going to use this design as the core which of course tinkering will rear up along the way due to the unknowns on paper (not proficient at this software).

While not Prototypical and close to any NMRA view but with such a condensed layout 3 sets of 3'by8' to form the "U" shape I simply tried to pack in fun in and "wants".

Track Elevations (1.7%)/Mountainous will just be built along the way since I could not create on paper but all in my mind...
