Well that's it. January is about over, it's the last Weekend Modeling Plans of January of the new year. Time keeps going faster!

My weekend starts today with a brief work period on Saturday and having Sunday off. I have only two more short spurs that I want to get put on my second module then I'll invert the module and solder all the drops to my main bus wires. Once that is done, I plan to connect both modules one and two and operate a train between the two of them. Hopefully like module one, it will operate smoothly. Next I'll start the work on the third module which will include updating my leg attachments like I did with the two previous modules, laying roadbed and maybe even track. I was hoping to have all the track done by the end of January. It will be close...I also have that Maine Central GP38 I want to work on. This is another project I found that had been started when I lived in Winnebago Illinois and never finished due to me moving. All in all, I'm hoping for a nice quiet day off with a lot getting done.

So how about you? What do you have in the works for your weekend? Let us know! We'll come back here on Monday February 2nd and see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and...

    High Greens!

We have snow. Knee high and rising, as they say. I was fortunate to be skiing in Maine, so I had great fun in one of those rare fresh-powder days in New England, two days, actually, followed by a much warmer blue-sky day Thursday. But, there was more snow on the way, so I packed up a bit earlier than anticipated and drove home. So, here I am.

With no one home, everything is just as I left it - a mess, but an orderly one that I understand. Before I left, I'd cut a set of thin strips of brick sheet to use around the roofs of a couple of structures. They're painted and awaiting mortar, which I hope to get to today. The roof on that Cornerstone kit is painted and ready to go, too, and I built up the wood support for the Miller Engineering "Coppertone Girl" sign. The whole thing is just about ready to assemble, with everything in place. I've got to get myself a power supply, though, as I've got nothing to power my structures and streetlights on that side of the liftoff bridge.

I had a three day weekend last week that was almost all model railroading, so this one will be notched down a bit. ;-) I started a new layout and got a lot done on it, but it's probably gonna be three weeks before I will be able to get back on that project. In the meantime (this weekend) I'm gonna continue work on a couple of decal projects I'm working on. Also going to work on photographing and cataloging my rolling stock.
