With apologies to all and a thanks to Mr. Beasley, I'm back. I apologize that I did not get last weeks threads in, seems the schedule and lack of a good internet source kept me from posting these weekend threads.

I heard from a few of my modeling friends that Galesburg RR Days went well and I'm already starting the planning for next year. Looking forward to that. My vacation was more about hiking and canoeing so nothing to report in Train land. As far as this weekend? Unfortunately, I'm at the end of a big model airplane project plus Jared has soccer tournaments ALL weekend. As a result, what little free time I have left between the hours of 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM will have to be devoted to the plane project. Hopefully next weekend I can work some on my displays as I get ready for the Railroad Prototype Meet in St. Louis in August.

So how about you? What do you have planned? Track work or scenery? More bench work or a little DCC? Let us know. We'll all be back (including your host) on Monday the 14th to see how you all did. Until then, have a happy and safe weekend and...

Welcome back, and I hope you had a great vacation!

Well, the benchwork is up for Phase 3A of my layout, and during the week I drilled some holes and ran bus wires through it. I'll be cutting the pink foam to fit this weekend. Then, I've got to raise the level of the track that goes to the liftoff bridge across the aisle. When I put it in, I ran it down a slope for some visual interest, but now I want it level so trains won't have to climb a hill coming in from what will be mostly staging, for the time being.

The liftoff will be a 3-foot section with a truss bridge in the center and a causeway on the ends. The bridge kit (from Central Valley) should be at my LHS right now.

I don't anticipate getting anything accomplished this weekend. Out of town again then a mini vacation Monday-Tuesday, then back to work.

I glued down part of an old section from the old layout to the top level of the new section. It has 2" foam board on it, it is about 1/4" too high, so I have to trim it down as well as cut out the road bed for a smooth transition. I did make some cuts on that this morning before I left for work.

My goal is to have all rail laid, tested and DCC operating by the end of the year. I think it is very realistic and maybe I can beat that.

    Welcome Back!!!

I have two projects this weekend. First finally getting to the sign for my Herf Bovine's Humble Gas Station on my corner module at the model railroad club. I'm totally rebuilding the module.

Second I'm doing some work on my home layout and working on the Silver Top Mine gallows frame. This is the second one I have built and is more to scale.
