We've made it through another work week! Whats on your modeling agenda this weekend?

I have Saturday off this weekend so I hope to get some small projects done in the shop. I have the CB&Q NW-2 painted that I started earlier in the week, however the gray I used is too light, so I'll mask it again and spray a darker Gray, then it's off to the decals portion. I'll be doing the simplified Q switcher scheme the Q adopted after 1957. It will look a lot like the standard black scheme but the "Every Where West" and "Way of the Zephyrs" will be replaced with the bold BURLINGTON. The cab logo is also smaller and slightly different. This will be my Galesburg City Job switcher until I can SW-7 built. I would also like to instal my NCE mini panel and get the DCC up and running, but we'll have to see how the time plays out.

So how about you? What do you have planned? Let us know. We'll come back here on Monday the 27th and see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and...

    High Greens!

I've started disassembling an Atlas GP38 that I bought last weekend, and studying what needs to be done to remove the dynamic brake equipment. I have a non-DB plug from a Kato GP35 that I can use, but I need to remove the turbocharger stack and add the two stacks for the non-turbo exhaust system. There's going to be a lot of surgery going on before the first paint flies.

Once finished, it will be GTW 5506 in Burdakin blue (I found a very close match in the auto paint dept - for me, close is close enough;)).

    Absolutely NOTHING.

We are in the midst of remodeling the house and until this project is done, all I can do is dream about trains. Half of the ne flooring is in and the kitchen has been completed. One bathroom has been gutted and hopefully this weekend it will be complete. That leaves tile in the entry foyer before the master bathroom gets gutted to the studs and rebuilt, and then the master bedroom needs carpeting to come up and new flooring and fresh paint (and the wife says new furniture).

I can't even work on model railroading projects because my MRR workbench is piled high with tools to various items for remodeling. Occasionally when I go downstairs to the basement to get a tool or to work on the electrical, I may glance into the train room.

I'm trying to finish my orange grove this week-end. 30+ trees are awaitinig the final foliage and fruit. Maybe I'll also get the adjoining strip of mainline ballasted and scenicked.

My plans are to order a new laser kit by MTL and maybe build it next week. My other plans are to stay inside the air conditioning until it drops into the 80's....

A powerboat race will be streaming on the 'Net, so my attention will be there. Maybe a little work in between on a my HOn30 center cab critter.

Working on a couple of N-Scale Bachmann 70 tonners. One is in SP bloody nose - the other is (at the moment) solid black. I hope to get the hood and cab end (under the windows) painted silver. Then gloss coated. The black one will done up to as delivered. Silver ends - tiger stripes around the side sills. I may start working on some buildings.

    Enjoy,
    Wolf

More painting in the train attic, on the walls. Both base green and clouds. Also hope to start prepping for some of the lighting fixtures. I ordered most of the lights today. Next Friday, the HVAC folks come back to put in the heatpump.

From a "modeling" perspective, more work on the Avrams bakery project. Hopefully, get the lamp posts built and set as well as power poles and "EZ" line. Last weekend we were with our good friends out of town up on the Chesapeake Bay and I did not get jack-squat down on modeling. This weekend I hope to reverse that tide. Lots of work to do in the layout room. Almost overwhelming. But a nice problem. Being a "Lone-Wolf" modeler has its issues but I love it.

    Happy modeling all

Where I live, you'd think folks were lone wolves by our locations. But it's actually mostly by choice. Why, I wonder sometimes.
