Hard to believe but we are entering our last weekend of July. Wow the time does go by fast!

A weekend that was supposed to have me on the road has suddenly changed into a weekend at home. While this is a bit of good news / bad news, I still have work commitments that will keep me busy with planes of the model kind. I do hope I will get some time to work on some N scale in anticipation for the St. Louis Prototype meet in a few weeks. Unfortunately, even this show is in danger of being taken off my calendar. Time will tell as they say and until then, I'll make a concerted effort to get ready for it, hopefully a bit this weekend.

So how about you? What plans of the model railroad kind do you have on your schedule? Track work, a bit of painting or maybe some structure work? Whatever it may be, let us know! We'll assemble back here on Monday the 28th and see how we all did. Until then, have a productive and safe weekend and...

    High Greens!

I've spent some evening time assembling girders for the truss bridge. I came up with a good system for them, but each one (30 total) needs to be clamped together while applying the glue and letting it set, so I can only do 2 at a time. Still, it's good activity to make modeling progress while watching the Tour de France.

I hope to make progress on the bridge's side truss assemblies over the weekend. Saturday should be a good bike-riding day, though. I hope that my 3-way turnout arrives in the mail, and the back-ordered #5R gets to my LHS, so I'll have all the parts I need to keep going once the bridge is done.

Continuing painting on the GTW GP18 and starting on the CNR F3B. When the latter is done, I'll have both complete F3 A-B-A sets (9000-9005) that CN had initially.

I've been searching, on and off this afternoon, for a small stash of a specific sized styrene. Need it to shim a coupler conversion. Finally just found it! Tomorrow that conversion will be accomplished.

I've started building my O scale JI Case Steam Traction Engine kit from Wiseman Model Services. I've already built the HO scale version but I've since switched to On30. Man, it sure is easier to build the O scale version. It's my very first O scale kit.

I'm back to building the stairs for the insp. pits. Might start on the doors if time allows.
