Sorry this is late guys, I'm on the road for the event in Deshler Nebraska. Please let us know what you are working on this weekend and we'll get back together on Monday the 10th to see how we all did. I'll still be on the road so that thread maybe a bit late as well.

Waiting for my order of HOn30 items from Shapeways. Sometimes they are quick about it, other times.... Not sure what I might try to accomplish this weekend. I do need to paint up some truck frames for these coming items. Will see what else might happen.

A BNSF conductor friend I had not seen in quite a while caught me this morning after work. Had a super neat old GN paper item to show me. It showed station names west of Shelby, Montana, which have been gone for many, many decades. Then I got a letter in the mail with a couple of BN train orders from Idaho which I had been wishing to locate. Maybe that is what i will do- work on my BN train order collection.

I’m going to dive in and start putting in the HO shelf layout’s benchwork today. I think I’m in a good spot with the track plan-i got a couple more recommendations I need to consider but I can think about that while glue dries between foam and HCD.

I had a social engagement last night and some yard work this morning and I’m taking my oldest daughter to her first MLB game tomorrow (it’s the Nationals, not my Cubbies or even the Brewers, so it kind of hurts my soul but it will be a great time and she’s excited) but if I don’t start working on this now I’m not sure when I’ll have the time (and courage?) to start putting holes in the wall of the house I bought two months ago.

Wish me luck-new house, new layout, new scale.

Once the glue has dried some on the backdrops for the 8' module I plan to drill the wire runs. Then I plan to do the other backdrop filler work in hopes it will be dry enough to paint tomorrow. The sealant does say cure time is 24 to 72 hours so I may have to wait.

I have a speed controller coming today for the belt sander so will spend some time building turnouts. I think I'm done with benchwork for a spell.

I've already been out this weekend shopping for stuff we need at the train club (TP, receipt books, paper towels), and have started on some scale cardstock houses and shipping containers. Hoping to get some cork roadbed installed at the club Sunday before I have to leave to attend a Liberia mission board meeting and a graduation party. Next Sunday, I leave for two weeks of camping in Glen Jean, WV at the National Scout Jamboree so this week will be busy with final preparations and packing. I am also negotiating with my professor on my final paper topic for this summer semester and will have to write that as soon as I get back from West Virginia.

Been working on getting the bugs out of the new controls for one of the staging yards on my home layout. Almost there and once I'm happy with the way it's working I'll start cleaning up the mess I've made.

With a lot of travel since early June, I have been busy catching up on mundane domestic chores the past few days. Did a little grocery shopping and took Sharon's aunt to lunch earlier today. If things continue to go well, I am hoping to spray the loco I primed the first week of June. If that is all the modeling I accomplish this weekend I will be perfectly happy.

    Stay safe,

Started work on a Tangent on a Sam Rea Shops 4600 cf covered hopper after I painted the body parts for another Proto GP7.

Going to the club on Saturday to run trains and have our normal bull session.

Hope to finish painting a 50’ boxcar kit and later start to decal it and another gondola that I painted last week. I also need to paint another 50’ box, kaolin tank car and a 40’ van.

Went to the cardiologist last week and got a clean bill of health until my appointment next year along with an echocardiogram at that time.

OK, at the halfway point, but here we go....

I am finishing up decaling several Wichita & Northwestern boxcars from the Accurail and Athearn prototype sets. Some additional decals arrived on Saturday from Bill Brillinger for more 40-ft cars and to decal the locomotives. I sent off a PS-1 car for a friend...I printed this decal set at home, modeling the scheme from a Frisco Intermountain PS-1 car (the car came with broken stirrups from eBay, and replaced with metal ones).

Ill work on the programming for that RI GP-18 and install a current keeper (keep alive) to improve performance.

    Have a good one!
