Hard to believe that we are entering the last day of June and entering July. Time seams to speed up in the summer. I have a rare 4 day weekend coming up. The shop I work for decided that working Monday then taking Tuesday off was silly since we sell mainly RC things. I agree. Onward!

Saturday: I would like to clean out the garage as well as some other areas and get things organized. After five years, I'm giving up the storage unit and saving some money. Now to find room for all that stuff! This will be the weekend I clean and organize.

Sunday: I plan to get most of the items put away from last weekend and get ready for next weekend's "Goodbye, Farewell and Amen" operating session of the Galesburg City Job. As most of you know, for the past year I have been holding monthly operating sessions on my portion of the GCJ. With the impending move, this was to be the last operating session in Illinois. Well, fate has struck once again as it seams and I may not be moving back to my beloved home state. Not for now anyway, or forever for that matter. Either way if I stay or go, I feel this will be the layout's last operating session. The switch lists are done for three "days" or shifts as I have folks coming in from all over Central Illinois. They'll also be a bon fire, BBQ and other assorted activities that I must prepare for.

So how about you? what is on your job ticket this weekend? Let us know. Not sure how many of us Americans have Monday off, but I will probably start the Weekend Modeling Accomplishments thread on Monday the 3rd. It may be a bit later than normal as I will be sleeping in! Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and as always...

    High Greens!

    bummer about the move.

We have BBQ plans with friends saturday, which means grass cutting, grill prep and pool maintenance. Sunday I'm going to put up some temporary brackets in the layout portion of the garage and unpack the only surviving portion of the old layout so I can have a visual reference for the shelving that needs to go underneath.

Since I didn't get a darn thing done last weekend - I hope to work on my layout this weekend. I want to work on my roundhouse facility and my oil derrick scene (It needs an access road up to it). I also want to get some work done on my propane offloading facility. So, come Monday - we'll see what I get done - LOL.

Hope ya'll have a great and safe weekend,

Framework over the long and treasured 4 day weekend. I have benchwork complete on both sides of the train room. My "grand plan" for this long holiday weekend is to frame the 2 sides together. Mrs. Kitbash insists I leave the bench (at least part of it), to get to the window in the attic in the even of fire. So about a 36" stretch will have almost nothing below it. The center part will be some grand ravine or river or something.

We'll see how this "morphs" over the 4 days.

I'm on call this weekend, so no real plans for life. I DO have my new passenger cars pretty well done and upgraded the striping and some of the detail work on the locomotives - I'll maybe spend some time on getting some semi-temporary scenic work in and take some pictures. I'd like to see what it looks like in "real life" so to speak.

    Happy Fourth, everyone!
