Ah May, I simply love the sound of that month. A month that means winter is just a bad memory and it's time to get out and get inspired and gain ideas that we can translate to our layouts or modules. I'm talking railfaning folks. It is a good way to get out of the shop and see what is going on in the real world and how we can use this insight to make our model world better.

I have a busy weekend planned but not as much railroad as I would like. Jared has soccer games tonight, tomorrow and Sunday, so most of my outdoor activity will be spent outside. Not that I'm complaining! Saturday will have the best chances of getting any work done on my modules for T-Trak. The weather is finally getting warm enought that I can stain my two last modules. I want to get a bit of scenery down on my double bridge T-Trak module and work on the BNSF heritage locomotives for Galesburg a bit. That is about it for this weekend for me.

How about you? What do you have in the hopper? Let us know! Details and images are always good. We'll get back here on Monday the 5th to see how we all did. Until next time, have a great weekend and...

    High Greens!

Busy weekend coming up, my son's 1st birthday party is tomorrow. Several family and friends will be coming, wife has been going crazy all week getting prepared. I wasn't much help working 11-hour days all week.

On the modeling front, I sold 7 cars on evilbay last night so I need to get those shipped out Saturday if at all possible. Now that those two lots sold, I need to throw a couple more lots up for sale. Really have to move the HO stuff before I can really get anything else accomplished. I have stuff scattered all over the existing layout for pictures and documentation for sales and trades.

I bought a Model Power 40' wood Mucie & Western Ball Line boxcar on that auction site for $3.90, could get that tomorrow. It'll need an MT conversion, but that will have to wait until an actual layout exists. Also preparing an order for Code 40 and Code 55 Weathered ME flex track.

I took today off, and started, well, sort of started, anyway, Phase 3 of my layout. I cleaned up stuff under the current layout, and moved around some furniture in the train room to clear the way for the new benchwork. I sat down with XTrakCad, too, and did a bit more planning. I had a great idea - to move the icing platform over to Phase 3 and put it in a better location operationally, but I quickly saw that it wasn't going to work. Planning does sometimes tell us things that we can't do, and save us some effort.

I also unboxed and stared looking at the Munnsville Depot kit that will be my Railway Express depot. It's a laser kit, and I think it will work out well.
