We've done it once again, can you believe we are already half way through October? What shall we accomplish this weekend?

I worked a bit through the week on my pair of post 1980 caboose models for the BN. This is mainly just a test to see if anyone would buy a specific caboose model that has been updated and weathered to match a prototype. If I can build and paint them and still be able to offer them at a decent selling price, then I may put it into my catalog for future Wiggin Locomotive Works items. The main goal today however is to finish up the detail work on the D&RGW GP30 so it can get washed, rinsed and sent into the paint booth for primer and color. Other small projects that need attention in the shop will likely get done as well.

Saturday, Jared's High school soccer team is playing in the play offs after defeating a team Wednesday. I'll be using my Saturday to go watch his team and following the old Illinois Central and maybe, just maybe getting a bit of railfaning in.

Sunday, I need to do the domestic duties of course, but I really need to get a lot of work accomplished on the Galesburg City Job. Somehow we managed to get ourselves into the main building at Trainfest, so I really want to have a polished layout for one of the biggest model railroad shows in the U.S. Turn out work, buildings and scenery are on the list as well as a small change in the way I display my turnout controls. All in all, it should be a great weekend.

So how about you? What do you have planned for this weekend? Let us know. We'll come back on Monday the 17th to see how we all have done. Until then, enjoy your weekend, be safe and...

More plywood sub-base this weekend. Mostly where the small town of "Cholly Gap" will go. Hope to also work at the bench "tweaking" and refurbishing buildings that were in storage for so long. They held up well, but not perfectly. Time in storage is rough on models.

I have a long honey-do list, but got an early start on it to make a dent this morning. If I get a chance, the plan is to finally get some ballasting done.
