Another week is about history, what do you have on your list?

I have a busy weekend in front of me. Starting today, I have one last set of legs to finish to get all six of the Galesburg modules done. I also sat down and figured out which track I needed and how much of it I would need to order. So far just two code 55 wye's. I'll start laying out the ply wood sub roadbed and get that cut before moving on to the risers. Saturday, our club has a steam fan trip in Monticello. The Monticello RR Museum is getting their Southern Railroad steam train out and offering tickets at a reduced rate so a bit of foaming is in order tomorrow. Sunday depending on the weather, will depend on what I work on. If it is warm, I'll go to my storage Unit and work on the Galesburg modules. If it is cold, I'll work on my T-Trak bridge module.

So how about you? What kind of to do list do you have this weekend? Track work, wiring, DCC, scenery? Whatever it is, let us know. We'll all come back on Monday the 20th to see how we did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and...

Happy Friday to everyone! I'm still working on that liftoff section, which models a bridge over what will be a river by the end of the weekend. I spent a bit of time during the week putting on ground cover in preparation for the first pour, which should be tonight.

The bridge is a Central Valley kit, if anyone is interested. It's not a beginner kit, but not outrageous, either.

I'll be back to my LHS this weekend for track, rail joiners and some more green turf. I will be putting down the track to complete the staging yard, and I'll probably finish soldering the Tortoise wires. Oh, thanks for reminding me! I also need to pick up some red-green LEDs for the indicator panel. The Tortoises are controlled from the throttle via a stationary decoder, but I'd like to get some indicators, too.

Other than the need to climb a ladder to the roof of my house Saturday morning I should be able to get some wiring done. After I glued down a switch I realized I forgot to drill a hole for the tortoise so I get to pull that back up. I also need to build my round house. Last night I decaled a loco and it is now layout ready.

I'll be heading over to Ottawa this Sunday where a local club is holding a model RR flea market - I usually find good deals and interesting booty there, without fail! A perfect place for someone hunting older material and such.

This is yet another honey-do weekend for me where in painting the back hall and utility room shall be finished (they don't have radiators so if I want the paint to dry properly I need to do it while its still relatively warm). Then I can get all the stuff from those rooms currently stored in my train room put back - perhaps by Sunday I'll be able to run a cobweb clearing train or two.

I'd love to hear more about this loco and your layout - articulated steam appeals to me - probably since its the closest thing we have to actual SteamPunk in real life.
