Hard to believe that this week is almost over but it's time once again for Weekend Modeling Plans.

With my due diligence behind me, I plan to spend the better part of my Friday as my weekend. The Atlas Code 55 track I needed came in yesterday so I can start work on my first module. I'll be able to lay the required track within the 4-foot stretch, determine the width, then add the necessary risers and subsequently install the sub roadbed. If I'm successful, I'll have the main line down on two of my three modules before the weekend is over. Originally, my fellow Trainboard friend from MI was to come down this weekend but some things beyond his control sprang up, leading to a short delay. We'll re-group in November to install track on his three modules. In hind sight, it is just as well as Jared's High School team is working on a state title for soccer, so Saturday will find me at the field cheering these boys on in a regional game. In between the game I'll be working on the modules as it is supposed to be a beautiful weekend. Sunday is also looking like one of the last nice outdoor days of the year. I'll take a small break from modeling and have planned a day of cook outs and family hiking time in a nearby attraction. The weather may constitute an emergency "lowering of the top and removal of doors" from Jess my Railfan Jeep in what maybe her last fun romp of the year.

In between all of this, I have been working on my T-Trak bridge module. Last night the plaster cloth was applied as well as some graffiti to the center pier of the bridge. I'll work a bit on this over the weekend as well. All in all, a very busy weekend.

So how about you? What do you have planned? Shows, railfaning, club work? Whatever you plan on doing, please share! We'll come back on Monday the 27th to see how well we did accomplishing that list. Until then, have a happy, safe and productive weekend and...

    High Greens!

i Plan on working on ballasting a yard this weekend, providing my wife hasn't come up with other plans she hasn't bothered telling me about. Once the yard is ballasted, other ground covering can be put down and work can be started on detailing a town.

It's the home stretch for my bridge over Squirrel Creek. I'll be putting down some static grass, and then gluing down the track. I'll ballast that and the rest of the approach track. I found my "spare" moose, too, so he will find his new home down by the water.

If my LEDs come in, I'll make up the small panel to show the positions of the turnouts. That will also have toggles to power off the 4 long staging tracks.

Some time ago, I picked up one of those Walthers Cornerstone modular kits, and I've got leftover parts from another one. I may start putting that together. It will not be rail-served, but it will fill a dead corner behind the yard throat. I've got a Miller Engineering animated sign with the iconic Coppertone ad that will work perfectly back there.

The October Timonium, MD show is this weekend, and I may try to go up Sunday after 4 yr old soccer. Then again, I have house painting to do, and the last battening down of the yard and garden before it gets really ugly.

    And SEC football to watch .. . . .

A couple of years ago the Montreal Railroad Modelers Association was unceremoniously evicted from their lodgings in downtown Montreal, so they dismantled everything and looked for new digs. Well, this weekend will be their first open house since the move, in their new location, and I will be there to take a good look at progress in reconstructing their massive layout. There will be some sale of items from their former layout, so I'll see if I can find something interesting.

Someone on one of the Yahoo groups I belong to was good enough to take some photos for me for bridge I want to build. Looks like my weekend will be spent getting reaquainted with how to use photogrammetry to sort out the measurements for this project. This will be the first thing I have worked on in several years now.

I'll probably also pay a visit to my LHS for some suplies if I get far enough along. I still need to go through my old suplies and figure out what I have on hand vs what I need to pick up.

It feels good to be back at it.

I've been working on lettering a GP30 (as seen in the WPF thread). Lettering a U23B and a GP7. Also detailing a scratchbuilt kit using a TYCO aero-cupola caboose, assembling a Funaro B&O Wagon Top boxcar and pulling feeders for soldering later.

The Wagon Top is my first resin car build, pretty sure I should have paid the extra $15 for the Fox Valley or Exact Rail model.
