A distant howl is heard, something goes bump in the night, it is spooky in the train room....Oh it's a Halloween weekend, that explains it!

Welcome back everyone and welcome to the Gateway to the weekend. I hope you are ready for a great one and let's hope all the gremlins are limited to your front porch and not on your layout!

Saturday: Ang and I are spending the day with her Father in Indiana. We are doing a "survey mission" if you will and taking a look at towns and seeing what advantages/disadvantages the state may have. We have determined that we will leave Illinois sometime next year. While I really want to go home, that is no longer looking like a viable option anymore. So we'll research and see what we can see.

Sunday: It's Halloween but I'm hoping to work on the N scale layout. I played around with my track plan last weekend and again last night. As far as the track arrangement is concerned, I like it. With one track holding two industries, each holding spots for two or three cars, it makes for an interesting challenge without being non-prototypical. The bad news is that it doesn't fit any real prototype in New England. Oh well, it's been a year since I've run N scale and I'm not getting any younger. I want to build this and get it show ready so I can go back to my actual prototype layout, The Galesburg City Job. That is where next year comes in.

So how about you? What do you have planned for this spooky weekend? Let us know. We'll come back on Monday, November 1st to see how we all did. Until then, watch for those little ones dressed up and knocking on doors, have a fun Halloween, be safe, stay healthy and as always...

    High Greens!

    HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Happy Halloween weekend Friday to Y'all

I'll continue with my F7 project -- It's decal time. My favorite part of a project. As this brings "life" to it.

I will also be working on the next A-B-B-A set. Drilling holes and such - prep work. - My least favorite part of a project. Perhaps install decoders -- we'll see.

Have a fantastic and safe weekend,
    Wolf

    Good morning all,

I am about ready to start laying some track on the new section of the layout. Most of the turnouts I had built over the past few weeks had the throw bars left off not knowing if they would need to be left or right. Now that I have the cork down I will be finishing those turnouts and maybe get some more started.

Everyone have a great weekend whatever you are doing.

Good morning from cloudy, cool and rainy Northeast Ohio!

Well, Friday is bowling night, but I hope to do some cleanup and storage of cars done during the day.

Saturday, going to the club from lively discussion and running trains, then I hope to paint a couple of cars and start construction on some other ones.

Sunday, laundry and then decaling and car construction.

Happy Friday! Last weekend was a bust for working on trains but this weekend is looking better. Still have a few errands to run along with replacing the engine and cabin air filters on our two vehicles but other that that, should be able to get some hobby time in. Want to work on more scenery and some shelves for under the layout.

Hope you all have a great weekend!

    So far so good.

Last night I joined the club I visited last week. First thing they did was have me run some trains so I can get to know the layout. After that the member who plays dispatcher says he wants me as a yard master. All good.

Saturday- the speaker I ordered from soundtraxx arrived. Time to finish the decoder install on my RSD12. And then decals on an NW2. I also have four locos needing to have their factory lettering replaced.

Sunday we shall see. I need to finish the track work I started last weekend. The. Some scenery.

Paint the box car or bust! Ha ha ha. Also, to start my weekend, I just bought some additional bar clamps. These will aid in further modules to be assembled, possibly another this weekend. Ordered a few detail parts, couplers and supplies. And we will see what, if anything else, happens this weekend!

Will continue working under the new layout with electrical details, including a surge-suppressor power strip and a shelf for power supplies. May do some railfanning too, depending on what shows up. Hunting up real trains slows progress on the layout, but I enjoy the real thing as much as the N Scale, especially with this fine fall weather.

Another three-day weekend, so I made a scale track this morning for another TB member, also installed another #6 turnout for the classification yard and started building a #4 wye switch for the A/D tracks.

The rest of the weekend: I would like to decide final placement of my own scale track (drill track or coal yard lead), complete the drill track and crossovers south of the class yard.

Lot's going on here. Right now one covered hopper has end frames. The same and another have center rib plates. More work to be done. :) Oddly, it is cool and rainy here in North Central Alabama. So pretty just a few days ago. I hope all be safe and have more funs and Happy Halloween!

    Happy Halloween folks. Let's see.
Tomorrow: Some tune up work on track and maybe permanently affixing the bridge piers I cast 2 weekends ago. Then later tomorrow, have to stop. We're going to the NC State-Louisville Football game here in Raleigh. Tailgating w/ my oldest daughter and her husband. So railroading will halt as we mosey out to the stadium at 4:00 to party prior to a 7:30 kick off.
Sunday: Dang. I have no clue. I'll do something in the train room or workshop though.

Most importantly, have a great weekend all!

Continuing to mock-up my two 2' x 4' bases, and hopefully cut some pieces of wood to attach to bases incase ( well when ) I bump into them, to keep them from sliding off the plastic adjustable tables. Didn't think about the little metal adjustable feet sliding on the tables? Hard to explain but will show you when done. Also, run my brand new Kato CB&Q Zephyr set :)

Everyone take care and stay safe. Kind of cool here in the South and raining.

I am back from four weeks of travel. Eager to resume modeling, but still climbing out from under the backlog of chores. While all is not lost, I need to recapture some momentum. Therefore, I have modest modeling objectives for the weekend.

    1. Review my drawings of the Mikado driver inserts and select the version for practice on the laser engraver.

    2. Modify my x-y spreadsheet for cutting an arc in brass. My first attempt was off center and I need to figure out why and fix it.

Reading your accomplishments the past few weeks has kept my modeling enthusiasm high. Thanks for sharing.

Enjoy your weekend, have a Spookily Happy Halloween and stay safe,

I'm a bit late and have done a lot alwready.
Sunday I hope to do a vid of:
    * How I Built my 'Mobil Work Table / Space' by repurposing materials. That should take 20 minutes and I might do it a few times for practice.
    * Redoing my 'bungalowish' house and mounting it on base.
    * Making 'The Three Bears' electrical boxes - in cardstock.
Attached is a picture of what I have in mind:
