Here we are again, another weekend is upon us. Ready to share your list of things to do for this weekend?

Today is my last day at SAMs club of Bloomington/Normal so after today, I have my weekends back. Funny how when your not looking for a job, the right job finds you and my new job which is more in line with my career starts Monday. Onto trains!

Saturday is kinda railroad related. Most of you know about Jess, my 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ. She has been my Railfan companion for many a trip all over Illinois, New Jersey, New York, Vermont, Massachusetts and of course New Hampshire. At almost 20 years old she needs some work as her body has some serious rot so I'm heading to Tennessee tomorrow to get her a southern body tub that is rust free and in great shape. The good news is that I'm getting that plus a bunch more parts in exchange for the RC stuff I've been trying to get rid of. I'm hoping to sneak in some railfanning too since after all this is a Railfan issue.

Sunday I may be subject to a Honey Do list and with the the move behind us, serious unpacking must take place. I have a floor I started laying down in the room that will be Wiggin Locomotive Works so hopefully I can get that finished too.

So how about you? What do you have planned for the weekend? Let us know! We'll all come back here on Monday the 12th and see how we all did. Until then, have a great weekend, stay safe and...

    High Greens!

Sounds like you'll need a few weeks of 25 hour days! :)

Geez Jim try not to work too hard there . . .

    since I have a 3 day weekend (!) there's a 1 in 3 chance I'll make the train room. I have three or four decaling projects stacked up . . . .

Well I had planned to install a decoder but don't have enough supplies. Hit the LHS in GJT. Picked up a couple of items. Will see what the rest of the weekend brings.

Just moved the power adaptor for my scanner to the modeling bench, in the hope of a bit of listening and working. We shall see.....

I've been looking at a couple hi cube boxcars sitting on the bench I painted over a year ago just waiting for some decaling. Might have to dig into those as the weather isn't forecasted to be contusive to outdoor activities.

I guess I'm back. For whatever reason, I took the summer off from modeling, but I'm inching back in.

Over the last couple of weeks I've been putting together a set of 3 "company house" kits from City Classics. Since I plan to light them and maybe put in a basic interior, I'm taking my time to make sure I won't get light leaks out the seams, and I've got supports for the floors installed before I glue the walls together.

I did minor repairs on some rolling stock, too, just to get back in the swing of things.

Some time back I put together a working crossing gate set with a detection circuit. Some friends came to visit last month, and he brought me a bell for the crossing gate. No, not a model, a real one. The funny thing was that it runs on 12 volts DC, the same as the output of the detection circuit for my grade crossing, so all I needed was some wire.

image.jpeg This weekend has seen some progress on my Faller Children's Carousel as well as a trip to a nearby amusement park to do prototype research, get some scares and ride some amusements.

I finished up placing the horses, completed the center support and started painting the outside support poles. Once the outside poles are finished, I will glue the center support and roof on the platform while ensuring the outside poles are vertical.
