wolfgang: looking good. Did a fair bit (200-250km) of running around this weekend, and spent way too much money. Decided the old 17" CRT monitors just had to go; so they did. My flatmate has 'liberated' one and the other is camping out in the living room. The new 24" LCD panel clears the layout much better and has more pixels to boot. Got my benchwork framing assembled and up on the wall; this is going to stay here permanently or close to it; and I can stick modules atop this for easy construction / wiring / scenicing. Helix goes here. Staging Yard goes here. 40' gon (my favourite test wagon) marking track height - look how much the monitors crowd the layout! Also bought some boxcars and a double-slip for the main deck. Got schemes for helix benchwork mostly planned out, but no actual progress yet.
