Another weekend has slipped by, how did you do? All in all a good weekend. Saturday I worked on the Rock Island GP40 and got all the details on it and ready for paint. Angela and I then went for a small road trip to my not so local hobby shop to pick up the rest of the Tru-Color paint I had ordered. Since McClean Depot is next to the famous Route 66, Angela and I figured we would get our kicks for a bit. We stopped at Funks Grove and found a Maple Sirup establishment which was a shock to this native Granite State man. We even bought some (Corn syrup doesn't cut it with me). We ended up driving on 66 down to Springfield with the intent of eating at a local eatery. Unfortunately it is getting harder and harder to find true local "Mom and Pop" eateries in a world of fast food and chains. We finally found one, then followed the old Illinois Central on Route 54 home again. Sunday I had planned to get primer and paint on the Rock Island GP40, but with the dark skies the lighting was nasty. I like natural light when painting and with other frustrations, I decided it not best to push my luck. Regardless the GP40 is now ready for paint: So how about you? Did you get everything done you set out to do? Let us know, with pictures if you have them. We'll come back again on Friday the 15th and do it all over again. Until then... High Greens!
Saturday, I got the long delayed backdrop up behind the JACALAR's yard And Sunday, I worked on the desert on my lift out bridge
I managed to accomplish most of my planned track alterations on a T-Trak module. Just a little more to finish.
Last week I finished my backdrop, glued down my foam board, hung the tracks for track lighting and hung 6 out of 14 lights. Yesterday I attached the fascia and now I need to do a little muddying and taping to get rid of seams.
