Well it's happened again, another weekend is in the books. How did you do on your list of modeling projects?

Not much for me, the heat did keep me inside except for Sunday which I spent chasing full scale locomotives. The Monticello Railroad Museum was running their Southern Steam locomotive so I chased it and snapped a few pictures.

There were a fair amount of railfans out this weekend. No work on the layout as family activities kept me busy. I'll find out this week if I'm going to Collinsville or not to participate in a Prototype meet. If so, I'll need to get ready for that for next weekend.

So how about you? Did you survive the heat? Did track work get done? Module work? How many had shows this weekend? Tell us what you did with pictures if you have them. We'll come back and start it all over again on Friday the 27th. Until then...

    High Greens!

I painted G&OM 1803, the first GP7 from the rebuild program. Only all black at the moment, still needs while sill stripe, numbers, lettering, shield, etc...

I also painted three MoW Tool Cars.

Soldered lead to a #6 curved turnout. I need to borrow a Dremel and cut the rails to insulate the frog before I install the switch. The installation of the switch will determine how the remaining tie strips are aligned prior to weathering/ballast, rail laying, so the switch is holding everything up.

I opened my mailbox on Friday and took out the eagerly awaited package from the midwest. I took it up to my office, opened it up and found...cholesterol medicine. Rats. The latest tracking information has the static grass gadget a few towns over. Tomorrow, I hope.

But, there was no shortage of projects, so I reached into the tool box and got busy. I added sidewalks in front of Lucky's Bar, the Brass Rat and Brother Elias's Last Chance Mission. Next, I added 5 Cornerstone street lamps, and wired them up. I did a bit more terraforming and added plaster cloth up to the banks of the canal, again in preparation for the grass. Then, I started on the interior of Lucky's Bar. The bar itself is OK, but I'll need a special toggle to cut off the lights upstairs in case younger visitors come over...

The New York, Ontario and Western historical society had their annual show yesterday in Middletown NY. My club had our modular HO layout there, as well as a Lionel and small G scale layouts featuring Thomas and Friends equipment for the kids.
