Despite a U.S. Government shutdown, I hope you all had a productive weekend. In what is sounding more and more like a broken record, nothing was accomplished this weekend. The constant work to get the magazine out and family obligations has gotten me to the point of wondering if I will ever get some time to work on trains. So how about you? Hopefully you have a better report, and if you do feel free to ad some pictures of what you accomplished. We'll come back on Friday the 18th and do it all again. Until then.... High Greens!
The weekend's not over yet. Have hope. Amazing things happen towards the end of football and baseball games, too. Even if you don't get the day off, you may take the Columbus Day Credit for one extra day of Weekend Modeling. My first "accomplishment" was coming down with a cold. Benedryl, ibuprofen and 15 hours of sleep seem to have shaken it, mostly, but I took the day off anyway. I got most of that boiler house done on Saturday, and spent Sunday adding window glazing and starting on the "tan yard" building. I also found a sheet of styrene clapboard that I was unsure if I had, so I scratch-built a small 3-sided truck shed.
Finished my new paint booth! A test flight and it seems to do all that I'd hoped. It is built as a 'table top' unit, but I am going to design a stand for it now.
Not exactly "modeling" but if 12"-to-the-foot scale counts: I'm finishing up a replica Union Pacific passenger car door at the "lobby" area of my train room. I will post pictures tonight.... John
My weekend is mon-wed so here is what I've done this week. After taking the summer off for a little outdoor recreation I have now started back modeling again. I did some work on the fascia and now it's ready to paint. Drew a grid on the bench work in preparation for transferring the track plan over and built a structure kit. Got 18 more of those to go.
