Another weekend has come to an end and during that time so did another piece of 2013! How did you fare?

Saturday I finished the last of taking down my old layout and cleaning up my home office. The old layout was updated by installing castor wheels on the legs and using it as a new work bench in my storage unit. It came in real handy for the next phase of layout construction. Saturday and Sunday I cut lengths of 1X3 dimensional lumbar to build the first of a series of 4 foot by 18 inch straight modules. I was able to get the base done and was adding the pockets that will hold the module legs in place when I ran out of time. My original goal was to start laying track today but I should be doing that by the next WMP on Friday.

So how about you? Where are you at on your projects? How far did you get? Let us know! We'll want to see and hear what you were able to accomplish over the weekend. We'll be back again on Friday the 6th of December to do it all again. Until then, have a happy, safe week and...

It was a long weekend, but a busy time overall, so I only made a bit of progress. I had hoped to take in some layouts on the Tour de Chooch, but the weather was rather nasty. So, I spent some time assembling a bunch of industrial tanks and a rooftop water tank for the tannery. I moved the car outside, and used the garage as a temporary paint booth, as it was too cold and wet outside. A couple of the tanks need some touch-up today, but overall that stuff is done. I upgraded a couple more freight cars to metal wheels, worked a bit on the Tichy box cars, and...

I just sat around and ran some trains.

Had a productive modelling weekend. Fixted some issues in my yard. (model RR yard). Then put it thru it's paces- to verify my work. It's now at about 95%. Got a little more tweaking to do. Made some painting progress on my downtown buildings. Now- to start painting the window sashes- oh- what fun.....NOT.

    Thanks,
    Wolf

    Semi-productive weekend:
    1) Put a big dent in the task of cleaning up and organizing the existing layout room. I definately need more boxes now.
    2) Picked up an Athearn U28C for the right price on evilbay, looking forward to making that CC&CI #2704 in the future.
    3) Made a deal with MikeC on his Tichy panel side hoppers he had for sale. That will probably be one of my first projects when I get the layout removed and stored in the garage and a work bench erected in the laundry room.
    4) Extended garage loop an additional 18 ft plus a curve section that still need to be leveled and secured.
    5) Found a pair of old Life-Like "Linde Compressed Gases" boxcars that I found for $1 each at a flea market. My first HO train set in the late 80's included one of those (which was long gone). Figured I'd get it for sentimental value. Put KD's on, cut off the truck mounted couplers and managed to find some metal wheels that actually fit right.....easy 1/2 hour project. not a half bad car with work. Details are laughable next to my Branchline and F&C cars, but I don't care in this case.
