Well we've done it once again, another weekend is in the books. How did you do? I had a busy, busy weekend. I started Friday night by finishing up the decals on the Union Railroad of Oregon freight cars then, bright and early Saturday morning, the Reading and URO cars got their flat finish applied. I then started work on the Rock Island GP9U by stripping the paint off a Life Like GP20 and then cutting up Atlas and Life Like parts. I also started two 1980's era BN cabooses by plating over the windows which was common during this era. A little bit of Rock Island and BN by Jim Wiggin posted Apr 25, 2016 at 7:22 AM Sunday was a bit more relaxed, after realizing it would be so much better to invest a few grand into my Cherokee rather than buy a new(er) Jeep, I went ahead and gave the ole girl a nice coat of wax. Man that metallic green paint sure looks nice for being almost 20 years old! We went and watched one game of Jared's soccer then I came home and finished the B&M cars. By the end of the day, I had a fleet of cars ready for the Ohio N Scale weekend. I'm far from ready though, I still have two D&H 50 foot boxcars, three B&M F7 B units, the Rock Island GP9U, a ICG GP40, B&M Alco with sound, a few cabooses in MRL and BN and whatever else I can get together in a few weeks. So how about you? Did you get everything accomplished you set out to do? Let us know, with pictures if you have them. We'll all come back again on Friday the 29th and do it all over again. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and... High Greens!
Spent several hours mapping out the next section of benchwork on paper. Got a plan for it. When into the train room and mapped it out on the floor w/ tape to check dimensions. Got it squared away. Also spent time at the work bench finishing a Westerfield wooden gon'. One of the older guys w/ the staked sides. Now it goes in the stack of cars to be painted or weathered.
Completed a number of projects Sunday. Finished 5 woodchip cars and a station from parts from a Northeastern Mayberry Station laser kit. This was old and has not been in production for some time. I added shingles, rain gutters and a baggage door............
I finished laying the track on my switching layout and started playing with some mockup industries. 20160424_160351 by Rocket Jones posted Apr 25, 2016 at 5:06 PM 20160424_160237 by Rocket Jones posted Apr 25, 2016 at 5:05 PM 20160424_160213 by Rocket Jones posted Apr 25, 2016 at 5:04 PM Next up, drop feeders and then weather the track.
