We're about half way through the month of December, how are you doing?

I finally had a weekend where I could accomplish a lot of what I wanted. Friday, I picked up a few supplies to wire up the modules and then actually went to a job interview. The latter was a nice change of pace! Saturday, I got up early to meet my railfan buddy, Brian, in nearby Farmer City to get some breakfast and plan out our railfan expedition. We drove up to Gibson City and snapped a few pictures of the Bloomer locomotive sitting at the grain elevator, which if your a fellow CB&Q fan, you'll love their paint scheme! We then snapped a few pictures of the CNIC "Santa Train" which was a semi let down. Rather than the E8 I had hoped to see, it was just a few coaches in a push pull configuration with two GP38-2's on either end. Still, the GP38-2's looked great and looked like they had just come out of the shops. We went north all the way to Gilman, shot some pictures of Amtrak and more CNIC action before turning south to catch the Santa Train in a nearby small town heading north. The rest of the day was spent visiting relatives, soccer and hanging out with friends. Sunday, I got to work on my shelf that holds my spray booth. I have had the booth on the front porch since I moved in but the location has been a pain and since the custom painting is starting again, it needs to be where I do the rest of my work. Once the shelf was built, I turned my attention to the modules by adding the main bus wires and doing some solder work for the feeders as well as some fine tuning of the legs. All in all, a very productive weekend!

So how about you? Were you able to get any work done on your layout, module or otherwise? Let us know! We''ll come back here on Friday the 19th and start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week and...

This morning I shut off the alarm clock for the last time. This is my last "real" day at work, and then I will be retired.

I got nothing done train-wise this weekend. We hauled a mattress and box spring up to our daughter in Maine, and then continued on to Sunday River for our first weekend of skiing. It was more "wintery" than I'd expected, but not cold at all. It was a good "break-in" for my old legs, which somehow didn't seem old at all.

Didn't get much done this past weekend as we had a bowling tournament to attend and then when we got back, I had a foot of snow to plow.

I have been working from the back of the layout to the front and have been working on ground cover. The area around the engine house to the yard tower has been done and a guard rail has been put in along the engine house to keep the workers from driving off of the road going to the parking area by the boiler house.

I started re-wiring our Club's N-scale Modules. I am getting rid of the Rats nest of wires. Our Modules have 3 mainline tracks and a 12 volt DC ACC line.

I am using Anderson PowerPole Connectors, 12 gauge wire, and terminal blocks

We have 14 in total; 3 done, 11 to go.
