Another weekend is in the books. How did you do?

I had a decent weekend, but not exactly what I had hoped for. Not enough people could come to the operating session so I postponed it until February and turned my sights to the shop. I wasn't particularly motivated but I got some work done on the layout by adding an extension to the layout. It's based on the British design of cassettes that are popular across the pond for shunting (switching) layouts. It will also double as a DCC programming track as I wired it up for power. Simply made from a short piece of 1X4 dimensional lumbar that is about 8 inches long, it clamps to either end of the modules and extends the main line a bit. Simple but effective.

Sunday, I had a bit more motivation and despite the domestic duties, I was able to get a project completed in the work shop that I had been planning for a long time. The spray booth that I have been using for the last 12 years or more, has an internal fan/blower that uses a furnace filter. Small periods of painting doesn't have much affect on it it but once larger models are introduced, the filter system becomes overwhelmed and soon a fog of paint is hanging heavy in the work shop. I purchased an in line 4-inch blower fan and a dryer kit and fabricated a blower system that fits in the window nice and snug. That should really help move the over-spray and solvent smell out of the work area. Since this old house has the step sons bedroom adjoining the work shop, this was necessary since in the past, I could not paint when he was in his room. Ah only 6 more months......I finished my weekend by cooking out (It was that warm) and watching some football. A as a New England native, I was pleased with the results.

So how about you? What did you get done this weekend? Track work, scenery, some running of trains? Let us know. We'll come back here on Friday the 27th to start another modeling weekend thread. Until then, have a great week, stay safe and...

Nothing to exciting for me RR wise. (as this was our 35th wedding anniversary weekend) - I did manage to put together and install some more signs. Started putting together 2 more wigwag signals. Remake my crossing bucks - to a more SP appearance. I built a block wall fence for the fire station.

Hope ya'll had a wonderful weekend,
    Wolf
