The last weekend of July is behind us, how did you do this past weekend?

Despite not having to go to a work related show this past weekend, I did nothing model railroad related. It looks like the prototype meet I was planning on going to is going to be removed from my list. I'll still plan but no mad rush to get anything in particular done.

So how about you? Did you have more motivation than I? What did you get done on your layout or module this past weekend? Let us know with a picture or two if you have them. We'll assemble in the same area again on Friday the 1st of August and start up another weekend. Until then, have a good week and...

The Tour de France has ended, so there will be more time on my schedule. I did watch some of it while working on that truss bridge. I finished assembling all the girder pieces, but now I've got to cut them to size and shape, and cut of some of the detailed bracing where parts come together. For now, though, it's still mostly just a lot of parts spread all over the table.

My 3-way turnout arrived from eBay, and I picked up some more track, so all that's needed now is that elusive #5 right which has been on back-order at my LHS. Maybe next week. Meanwhile, I want to finish the bridge before I lay any track on the other side.

With work having slowed down the last few weeks, I keep getting 3 day weekends (Working 4-10's).

Friday morning, I completed cork roadbed placement for the shared LK Valley Metal Co Foundary and L.C.&Co. Warehouse Track. Also finished the Yard throat Main, Run around and Yard track roadbed placement. Saturday morning, I cut the tunnel section off of one of the stored sections of previously existing layout, It will need trimmed down more and built up for connecting bridge height, but that will be a while. I also cut 1/2" Birch plywood and installed it for my work bench. I also began unpacking some items, unbuilt and unfinished kits to the left, parts drawers to the back and other kits and detal packs pinned up all around. Continued unpacking early Sunday morning as well. Very happy with this new working space!

    I just finished repainting a P1K F3B to CNR 9001. Now I have complete ABA sets 9000-9001-9002 and 9003-9004-9005.

Did you decide to stick with HO scale for this layout? Or are you still trying N?

My only accomplishment was the coupler conversion noted on Friday in the "weekend plans" topic. Well, I did also clear a little extra space on my work bench, again.

HO, utilizing part of the old layout with a new end module that helps everything function better than the original design.

I spent some time on the steps for the pits, still a ways to go, got surprised by a box from OR (Mom and Sister) with some car kits and a used Athearn SW, (SP paint), don't know what I'll do with it but I have a train now. (There was a caboose in the box too).Took the sting out of another birthday.

Well I have weekday weekends and work crazy hours weekly. So with that said.

I did like a foot of ballasting, picked up a new bottle of alcohol the 91% stuff (was using 50%) and wow that 41% difference really shows. Got a bunch of black stuff off my rails with it, cleaned my locos wheels also ..works so good I used it on my car's alarm remote circuit board and buttons and it works like new. It was getting bad took 9 pushes to work once. Now it works on the 1st push like new. Up next take every train/car off my tracks and clean all the rails and then clean the wheels of my cars and put them back on all clean on all clean rails.
