Welcome back everyone. I hope you had a good weekend. I'm back from the St. Louis RPM and what a show, but no rest for me. As soon as I post todays post, I'm off to New Hampshire for the month. Let's see how the weekend went for us.

Friday: After posting here on Trainboard, I set up the booth and started visiting with modelers from all over the country and beyond. It was a good turn out with a lot of neat models to see. I even got to meet Robert from Trainboard and that was really nice.

Saturday: Day two was busier as more people have Saturday off. I finally got to look at all the display models and was impressed at how many HO scale vehicles had been modeled. The show ended at 5:00pm just as a big thunderstorm rolled in. Fortunately, by the time I had packed up the layout and booth it was over. I got home about 8:30 and was tired enough to go to bed.

Sunday: I had planned to spend a relaxing day with the wife, but I ended up working in the morning, mainly getting ready for the National Train Show and returning the Horizon vehicle. Then once home it was a mad rush to get the lawn done. Two hours later I was washing the Mustang and installing a bra to keep those pesky paint chips away. By the time I was all done the weekend was over.

So how about you? What did you accomplish this weekend? Let us know. We'll all assemble again on Friday, August 4th to start the process all over again. Until then, have a great week, be safe and as always...

Good morning. Weekend went exactly as thought. We had a busy Saturday here w/ folks over as planned. Saturday was really busy helping the Mrs. I was able to get some time in the workshop and got 2 tunnel liners built and ready to go. I'll try to install them this week.

    Have a great week all!

Thank you to all the well wishers on Friday's thread. The thumb is healing nicely and I kept busy all weekend.

I was able to finish the small household repair project that I was working on when I got hurt. Entered some more items into the N Scale database, and made up some more card cards and waybills to add to the operation of the layout. Watched some more YT videos from the convention, and made a run to the hobby shop for some materials. Gave in to a little "retail therapy" and ordered a pair of NSE special run WP cabooses. Also got all the graphics and assembly work done on both control panels I am working on for a friend's staging yard.

Friday I awakened early (but late according to camp time) at 0630, and hurriedly brushed my teeth because it was departure day at the National Scout Jamboree and some troops were already boarding busses home. Things slowed shortly afterwards and I walked up hill to the dining hall 1/2 mile), had breakfast, grabbed my sack lunch, and walked back. I spent the day helping as I could as the 2000 scouts in our area of Subcamp Delta 2 struck camp, waited for their rides, loaded busses, vans, trailers, and box trucks, and headed for home. I had put the word out that anything that was being left behind that was too good for the dumpster could find another home through me with scout troops, churches, and various missions. So, t the same time, I was gathering up piles of buckets, pots, pans, camp chairs, leftover food, dozens of water bottles, and other things that weren't deemed "good enough" to go home, wouldn't squeeze onto the bus, or just weren't worth paying baggage fees to fly home. I ended up with my 8 foot pickup bed quite full. We got all of our scouts off safely, I was released, departed for home a little after noon, and arrived home (after driving through a nasty thunderstorm that tried to dislodge some of my well-secured cargo) around 5:30 pm.

Saturday, I mostly tried to catch up on my sleep, but also did laundry, sorted garbage bags full of leftover food and snacks, unloaded the truck into the garage, and (my wife) washed several dozen water bottles to take to our scout troop on Monday. Several large cooking pots have been given to our children, and a neighbor, but more are going to scouts, and a homeless ministry, and I already dropped four boxes of food off at the church food pantry.

Sunday, I attended church. I didn't have to preach, but I did do an hour presentation at Sunday school on my recent trip to Israel. After church I went out to the Sebring Model Railroad Club, checked the mail, found our electric bill, but also found that the new check I ordered had not yet arrived despite being shipped (with no tracking) two weeks ago. Hopefully, they will show up before our electric bill is due. While there we had a visitor inquire into membership, gave him a tour, and he left with an application form. Not long after that there were only two of us left so I decided to test drive some new-to-me boxcars I bought from the club (from an older member's estate, I think) a while back. They all got a few laps around the train room and did quite well with only one car needed a coupler repaired or replaced in the future.

Below: Test running my new-ish string of boxcars, plus a few others, past the cliff divers and the local switch tower.

Ahhh, time to relax. (y) Tunnel and liners look super cool. DL600B's look sharp! (y) Control panels look very professional. ;) Donations, recycling and laundry. Gotta' love it. I did work on cabs over the weekend, but I am still not there yet. The last attempt earlier today was very promising. :cautious: It is hot and humid here, so I plan to be home all week. I will be working on cab front and back walls as well. Have a fun and cool as possible week. :D

Over the weekend, I managed to paint a boxcar, trailer and tank car that I had finished assembling previously. I also worked on an finished building a Tichy Hopper car kit and an ART Refrigerator car kit (I managed to pickup 25 Intermountain undecorated kits on E-Bay for $235.00 and a lot of them were ART Reefers which I wanted to get for my Wabash trains). I also managed to get some decaling done on a covered hopper and a boxcar, hope to finish them during the week.

Sunday, went to the furniture store south of Akron and purchased a new love seat to replace the sofa which takes up too much room, it is a recliner which both of us will like to sit on. Also did some laundry during the day on Sunday between the trips to the furniture store and Costco.

My daughter and her family made the big trip from Pasadena CA to Vancouver WA, took them a lot longer than they thought (driving with children takes a lot longer than with just adults). But they made safely and were unpacking on Sunday and that will continue on today.

    Hey All,

Also back from the St. Louis RPM after flying home Sunday. It was great to spend a few minutes chatting with @Jim Wiggin among all the fantastic model displays and clinics. I actually spent all of last week on the road, so my modeling was limited to what I could do with my wallet. At the show, I grabbed a "Squealer" from Iowa Scaled Engineering, a new book from Scott Thornton, and a couple of new cars for the Wichita & Northwestern modular/freemo project:

Hope you all had a great weekend and were able to stay cool!

Got my HOn30 truck frames painted. Thinking I might need to order more, along with an N scale detail item. Was diverted by following a powerboat race of which I am a fan. Then many conversations about what transpired consumed more time. Weekend gone.....
