The last weekend of March is behind us as we look to warmer weather, longer days and more trains.

My weekend started Friday night with a trip up to Normal Illinois to set up for the Club's first Fun Run in a number of years. We got all the N-Trak and T-trak set up as well as our guests by 6:30. Saturday, I got up early and headed back to Normal and had a great day of running trains and meeting up with friends I had not seen since the great hibernation of 2013/2014. All of the club T-Trak modules ran very well and in fact we had a lot of new modules at the meet, making this the largest NSBN club T-Trak layout in our history. We had a large C shape that covered about six tables. The Fun Run was a success for both us as a club and Heartland college as well, as we had around 900 people come and visit and the college made just under a $1000.00 for their college fund. With that said, it looks like we'll be back to do it again next year, hopefully for two days. Sunday I enjoyed the official start to spring for me, watching Jared play Soccer after a five month hiatus. All in all a good weekend.

So how about you? What did you get accomplished this past weekend? Train shows, open houses? Let us know. We'll be back again next week to do it all over again. A Program Note: I will be posting this coming Friday from Toledo Ohio as I have to trade my Railroad hat for an airplane hat as I will be working at the Flying Models Booth for the Toledo Weak Signals RC show. I hope to have the WMP thread going at my normal time, but don't worry if you don't see it at the regular time. If your from the Toledo area and want to see my "day job" or even go and get a frosty brew and some wings to talk trains, feel free to look me up. Until next time...

    High Greens!

No trains for me, as we're trying to get in as many ski days as we can before the season ends. I took Friday off so we went up a day early. Friday was nice, Saturday was spectacular and Sunday, well, it rained so we packed up and came home.

But, how many times do you get to ride up a chairlift with a King, a Queen and a Prince? Saturday was the big fund-raiser for Maine Adaptive Skiing, and there were a few odd outfits on the mountain. Think Big Bird, with a helmet. Maine Adaptive provides opportunities for those who, for whatever reason, can't ski on two normal skis with two normal poles, or who need a guide because of visual impairments. They changed their name a few years back, because "handicapped" doesn't really fit those guys and gals who can get down the slope faster than I can.

Got a p42 put back together and was looking at my track an. Found an issue and redrew one corner. The redraw works as I tested it out and now I have room for a 9 stall round house with the realignment of my main line.

Re-evaluated the location of future building construction for the new layout. The 24'x7' plan to add to back of garage would eat up what little backyard we have open for recreation.

Looking at building a 16'x8' shed right behind the house at the property border. Very wet area of the yard, however.

Most thing are completely packed. Wont be doing much else in the current layout room until it us time to make the move out to the new structure.

Haven't been posting much due to working on my train room and work obligations.

In the last couple of months:

I've finished wiring my train room (attic)
    Purchased lights for the room
Arranged for insulation contractor to be here in 2 weeks to do the ceiling.
Have a roofer coming to remove a fan
Pulled my 30 engines out and bench tested them. I have my C&O Allegheny in a local shop having a WOW Sound installed. Also have an ABA set of FP7's from Intermountain I purchased in '06, never taken from the boxes at the same shop having Tsunami's put in each engine.
I've also been purchasing track and turnouts the last year and have built up a good supply
Have been in touch with 2 signal manufacturers and am trying to figure how I will signal this layout.

My goal is to finish the room, sheetrock, AC, and start building benchwork before the summer ends.

I'm getting there. I envy you guys running trains, but the 3rd edition of the Albemarle Division is getting there.
