Another weekend is in the books. How did you do with that list from Friday?

I had a great weekend and got a lot done. Friday I started with the first module and started installing the risers and sub roadbed. It is fiddley work since one has to clamp each riser, use a level and then screw the riser to the module frame, but it does make for a good level track surface. I also cut and installed the end fascia before calling it quits. Saturday, I worked on the second module doing much the same, although this module has curves that connect with the third module, so some track testing was in order. Once some 1/2 inch ply was cut and the end fascia pieces were added, it was time to get the risers installed. I spent the morning, checking and re-checking everything before assembly and in the end got the second module ready for track. Taking a break, I was happy to watch Jared's High School soccer team win the Super Sectionals, a first for their school so Saturday was finished by a celebration with the boys and fellow parents. As promised, Sunday we took it easy and had a cook out at a nearby forest preserve and took a hike in the beautiful weather we had. I did not get any thing done on the T-Trak however as I'm being patient with the plaster drying. All in all, a great weekend.

So how about you? What did you accomplish over the weekend? Track work, scenery, maybe some painting? Whatever you did, we want to know! We'll come back on Friday the 31st, oh Halloween
and start off another weekend. Until then, have a great and safe week and...

The liftoff module is almost done. I put some static grass down on Friday and then cleaned it up over the weekend. That moose did make his appearance down by Squirrel Creek.

Most of the stuff I've had on order at my LHS came in. I did get the LEDs for the control panel, but decided to put off actually making the panel for a while. I'm planning a few days of woodcutting for the next section of benchwork over Thanksgiving week, so I think I'll do it then. (Yes, Thanksgiving is approaching.) Instead, I got out the Walthers "Quality Investment Casting" kit, along with some spare parts with the same modular design. I'll be expanding the footprint a bit to fill a dead corner. It won't be rail-served, but it will pull the viewer's eye out from the corner and back to the layout.

Finally got some ballasting started in the yard and engine house started. A lousy photo. The only thing worse than waiting for paint to dry is waiting for glue to dry. Hopefully more can get done so ground cover and more detail can be added.

Well. We were on vacation for over a week so I haven't been posting on the weekends. But did get back last week. No exciting modeling to show. However, working on my train room this weekend, I mean attic. I got the small fixed window removed and had a new large operable window installed over the weekend. Had to do this for egress. Now, I can get an inspection and move on to sheetrock.
