I’ve started my first major project (well revisited) It is a NRE GP38-3 Rebuild for a Jamaican Alumina Company JAMALCO. These locomotives started off as GP50s for CNW and eventually some were exported to Jamaica to start their new lives. NRE’s rebuild specs differ from that of NS’s GP38-3 s. Prototype Pics: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/pictures/31183/JAMACIA%201026%20MT%20VERNON%20IL.jpg[/IMG] My starting point is a RPP GP60 Shell + Chassis (yeah not a GP50, the lister on Ebay when I bought it messed up but it’ll do) I have already made modifications to the shell and started work [IMG]http://i1217.photobucket.com/albums/dd389/DeAndre_Walters/IMG_1023.jpg Started with a pile of details…
Progress, but I ordered the wrong plow by mistake. The correct one is on its way. More To Come. I need to order sand hatches, grab Irons, GP50 Dynamic brake cover and that’s about it. Then it’s off to NC for paint.
Cool project - looking forward to seeing your painting get started. I also like your use of bridge supports as holders for your engine. I'm always looking for good stands like that to hold my loco and rolling stock shells for painting or just as holders while they're drying.
Thanks Me neither! Painting should be done within next month, I'm gonna let a professional do this one as it is really complex. those are actually supports for a tugboat kit I did a while back, the tugboat is visible in the first pic. Before I even get this to the paint shop, there's a whole to fill with some putty and some trucks on their way.
Alas she's sitting ontop of new trucks finally, now just waiting for the wormgear, couplers and a screw. Then off to paint
