Here CN 5423 an SD50f classGF-634b built in 1985 leads a coal train and is waiting for a crew change.
Much to my delight a second coal hauler pulled in also waiting for a crew change. Note the open door. A young lady was the the engineer that got off here. The loco is CN 2545 a Dash 9-44CWLclassEF644b built in 1997
This is the CN building where crews are billeted. Mountain railroading must be awesome. This is the Yellowhead Route
Thanks for the pictures Robin. I do like those CN wide body units, especially in the striped paint scheme (in my view, the best CN scheme).
I have now seen a couple of women engineers, and some wanna be's. When you consider the engineers who take the trains through the Canadian Rockies can make over $100,000 a year, I'm not surprised.

The only ones to even want to try have had problems some where or another and never made it, however there are some female trainmen, sorry trainpersons on BC Rail, and soon a conductor too.... Happy Railroading! Dane
ENR used to employ women on the trains... I don't think there are any female hoggers or conductors with the E&N now. But there are women in the office...
