I have two Microtrains GP-35s. I put a little gear lube on each one. One runs nice and smooth, but the other is jerky. I turn it upside down in my foam cradle and when I contact the tiny screws on either truck, it runs smooth, but contacting the wheels is rather jerky, and is definitly jerky on the track, so this means that there is a electrical contact problem between the wheels and track and motor. How do I clean the electrical path? Should I unscrew the covers and get into the truck? Do you recomend a solvent or cleaner? Should I polish with a wire brush or something? How about sand paper?

    Thanks

    Terl

Teri, I would remove the wheels and clean it with a RC motor cleaner, and make sure there is no crud left in it. Since you have the sideframe off, I would clean off any lint or hair on the truck. I would also check if the wheel wipers are bent.

I second checking the wipers. Make sure to clean the wheels and wipers thoroughly (both surfaces).
