I was talking with someone a few weeks ago and they gave me the idea to do a RIP track, which is something I had been thinking about for a while anyways. He said his club layout had one and somehow they had been able to get the cars to randomly go to the RIP track. To clarify "random": I mean how a customer can "reject" a car due to a defect of some kind. So the car may have already been taken to a location, but then needs to go back to the yard / RIP track. I started digging into this in JMRI, but can't figure out one might do this. Initially I thought of using schedules, but that means that every single spur on the layout would need a schedule (I believe). Has anyone set this up in JMRI or have ideas how I could possibly do it?
