Johnny & Russ - Did you catch the April issue of Trains Magazine?

Page 18 is devoted to the New York Cross Harbor Railroad and its possible future.

Page 52 is an article on the CP coming into the City into Oak Point, across Hell Gate, and on into Bay Ridge.

    Good reading ...

I just made a ten block roundtrip and found that the March issue is still on the shelves!
I'll have to try a hobby shop tomorrow when I'm out on the road!
I can't wait to see it!

John, I probably received my copy of Trains early because I'm a subscriber ... dunno

By the way, I don't think that either you or my wife would appreciate my dropping in on your wife while you're in Marion, OH   So, if you don't mind, I think that I'll pass on your very kind offer ... thanks anyway [IMG] [IMG] :D

    Hank,

Thanks for the notice of the NYCHRR article in Trains.
It sure wasn't cheerful, but as my friend who works for them said, "We ain't dead yet"!

That "waterfront redevelopment" means condos I'll bet. I can smell it. That isn't the bay that smells. It's code words for "Let's build condos, the view is nice here".
Hope they can weather the storm.
That will hurt the biz here for sure. But the 65th St. yard is almost like new considering no one ever really used it since it was built.

The article about CP heading into NYC was good too. I have yet to see a train on that "link" yet. It's really visable from the Harlem River Drive. The thing is out in the river built on pilings. It would be a really great shot if I knew when anything passes through there.
