Hello everyone. I usally haunt the N scale forum but I thought I would introduce myself to the Z scalers. Z has always been intriguing to me and I have bought some off and on the past few years. The thing that finally allowed my wife to take the plunge was to start her own business. She started JTW Rails & Crafts so I could sell my custom painting and she could sell her RR shirts and other textiles. We are soon getting a Micro Trains account and she wants to focus on the Z scale for a few reasons. 1. In the Rockford/Northern IL area, no one carries Z. 2. At most of the train shows we set up at, almost no one carries Z and if they do it is spotty at best. Micro-Trains has done a lot of good for the Z scalers of late such as their new track and really nice looking GP35's. I hear they will start producing a Geep 9. Good move. I also bought some great lazer cut wood Z scale cabooses and would love to carry them, I think Pray59 is the producer.

Tina doesn't know if she will carry AZL or not as that is a different consumer and our local following may not spend that much. That said after seeing their locomotives at the nationals last year, I may order a few just to have in the shop.

JTW will not be an all inclusive all things Z to all Z scalers, there are too many vendors to do that, but we do want to service our area and believe more people would get into Z if they had a place locally that could sell to them at reasonable prices. Z has come a long way and it is only getting better. So be warned, I'll be lurking here now too, I just bought a undec Z box car:D . I have bought Tina my wife and fellow owner of JTW a lot of neat stuff and plan on building her a layout this summer so I'll be looking to you all for advice. Also please let us know what you think would be good items to carry regarding Z. Thanks guys.

    Welcome to the madness!!

    Hi Jim,

Welcome to our LITTLE world. I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay. And it will be a LONG stay, because once you've been bitten by the Z bug, there's no turning back. :shade:

N scale suddenly looks too big.

HO and O seem positively toy-like.

We welcome a new carrier of the Z bug with open arms, and open wallets.......:teeth:

Best of luck to you and the business. And have a great time building the layout. Please share your progress with PICTURES!

    Welcome Jim, Keep us posted.

Tina isn't the same Tina that was with us at NTS and the Z convention last year with the BYOZ layout built inside a hibachi grill is she?

Hi Jim, I am in the process of repainting some CSX well cars, and I am having problem finding the right blue for it. Does Floquil make a CSX intermodal blue? Thank you
