Looks like June would save me a lot of money. Nothing really special on the MTL June Releases. :-(
Rob Kluz, I have some money for the UP SD70! Are they on the way?

The N Rock Island boxcar is tasty, but that's it. I might even pass on it.

My exact same feeling-nothing to buy here. But then I went to ZScaleMonster.com and discovered that there was a 3rd set of PRR Covered Hoppers (2 more road numbers!)

Not prototypical.. Many roads' cabooses are very distinctive...

That's true, that UP caboose could never look more out of place. The CA cabooses with the slogans looked very different.

The problem is there are only 2 Z Scale molds for cabooses in the world, the MTL one that looks decidedly east coast, and the Marklin one that cries Santa Fe (which looks just as funny painted in NP)

Cabooses are road specific for sure. I think that if we were to get just one more injection molded caboose in Z, we would do good to get a Bay Window caboose.

With those three basic styles available, I think the kitbashers would be able to hack a decent representation of most any road's caboose.

Still, beggars can't be choosers, and we are lucky to have any caboose.

With Z Scale coming up in the number of participants, and the increasing ability of folks to develop small highly focused runs (which reminds me, I really do need to build that N Scale NYC caboose!), I think it won't be all that much longer before some road-specific cabeese are available in Z.

Hi George, I have made that NYC caboose into a Z kit too! If you think the N kit is hard, just imagine all the same detail in Z!

I have several Z Scale caboose kits waiting on me to write instructions for them. But kits are hard, and not for everyone. We could sure use another bodystyle in injection molded plastic.

Bay window caboose. Yeah, that's doable in laser. So what's holding you back? I'll take pix using the tripod and write the instructions. And your kits are not hard, just need a few step by step sequence photos. Easy to do.

The SD70s are on their way! It looks like I will have the first shipment of NS and UP next week.
