I usually post in the NS forum, but someone requested that I also post some Conrail here. Here's a SD60I leading NS train 229 south on the NS Kentucky Division in the early fall of 2000. (I made a typo and originally called this a SD60M...oops!). ------------------ Jeff Norfolk Southern CNO&TP Home Page [This message has been edited by CNO&TP (edited 31 January 2001).]
Nice shot Jeff Now I'm gonna get a little technical here. That is a NS locomotive still in Conrail paint (but who cares?). Second, that is an SD60I, not and SD60M. Notice the crease just behind the front of the nose on the right, between the class light and cab number. This means this unit is equipped with the Isolated Cab, which is basically an "M" cab which is isolated from the rest of the locomotive. Some people call it the "whisper cab" cause it is quieter. ------------------ Corey Lynch Pres - Rensselaer Model RR Society, NEB&W RR http://www.rpi.edu/~lynchc/Railfanning/railfanning.htm - My Site http://www.union.rpi.edu/railroad/ - NEB&W

Conrail lines terminated in Cincinnati and the company was "gone" by the time I started railfanning. I was hoping the blue was good enough to keep the memories going!
quote:
Originally posted by Harron: Second, that is an SD60I, not and SD60M.

That was simply a stupid typo on my part. Jeff, I think most folks will appreciate the picture, regardless of its current "sublettering" I know that I love seeing your pictures.... keep 'em comin'!
