I am strickly new guy on the block. I have some Pullman cars that need couplers. Can someone direct me to a site that shows me what to look for. The coupler that is on there now that is not working has a plastic case held with a center screw. I can not see where the plastic case would come off.

The other question I have as I am building my lay-out. I am using KATO track. What do I need to automaticly uncouple a car when you would like it uncoupled?

    Thanks for your help.

Hi Pyoung .. welcome to Trainboard. [IMG]

You can find your answers about couplers at:

I have never used KATO track, but I'm sure that kadee has something for everything.

    Good luck. [IMG]

Hiya Pyoung. I converted my entire inventory to kadee body mounts from their various standard fittings. Its not a huge job, jsut take care and measure twice, cut once!

As far as uncoupling goes, you have a couple of options.... Delayed and direct uncoupling. I use delayed uncoupling, but I'm not happy with the huge magnet sitting between the rails. Then again, I'm yet to see an uncoupler that DOESNT look ugly (heck, all of them are better than the 'hand of god' uncoupler)

Pyoung, I'm not sure if this helps but I have a magnet under my track, cut a hole into the cork roadbed just bigger than the magnet. I use Atlas code 100 track. If I can dig up some photos of my process, I'll post them for you. Works great for me.
