I accidentally purchased a couple of packs of Kato concrete slab 9 3/4" double track. Instead of sending it back I was thinking of using it in my layout for either an industrial yard, or maybe part of the mainline (using the other side of the doulbe track as a siding). Could some one tell me which Kato Turnout would plug directly into both sections of the double track? Still new to the hobby and learning daily, Thanks in advance
There isn't a turnout that plugs directly into both sections unless you are talking about a double crossover and even then, I am not sure if the track spacing is equal. You would have to put a turnout on one section and an equal length of straight track on the other section.
I'm thinking a pack of 20-220 and a 20-221 #4 turnouts would work. Thy have a couple of straight pieces you would need to use on the straight route just before the concrete slab track. You would need two of the 20-160 curves to bring the diverging track back into alignment going into and out of the second track. Another solution...depending on where you bought them...see if you can return em for a refund.
The target spacing for Kato's unitrack is 33mm. The #4s like mtntainman said will work as well as the double crossover. I wish I had seen those tracks you have before I bought the viaducts to strip them of those pieces. See below for the #6 spacing.
Im writing this down "ooops! I bought more track!" Welcome to the hobby and the forum. Sent from my SCH-I545 using Tapatalk
