Red alert. You asked about the number boards and the seller sent you pictures? Why didn't he just check and confirm that the number boards are in the box. If they are, then great! You got a good deal. If not, walk away. Anything Kato sells is likely undecorated and will require some time and effort. I never liked this approach by Kato and fortunately they moved to factory installation. Unfortunately, there are too many purchasers who never took the time/effort to understand that they needed to install the number boards. Many of these likely lost them as well. It is encouraging that your photos show a plastic bag, but it might just have the metal air hose details and/or alternate length couplers. Kato put both of those in bags as well. I would hold out for a real answer.
No disagreement, but why not just have the seller actually check for the number boards? Shouldn't take but five minutes.
Just look through the bag. No need to open it up. Sometimes I don't want it to be opened as other small parts might drop out and be lost.
I know my original post was from January, and we are now mid-May. But I picked up the 3 engines ($50 each) and the number boards were in the box, no issue - On top of it, there was an Atlas engine who seems to be DCC equipped and brand new About the Kato SD40-2: What would be your recommendations for a drop-in dcc decoder (with sound or w/o sound)? I don't want to do any milling on the frame though......... I know Tsunami or Loksound are great, but might be expensive. I was more thinking about Digitrax or MRC But again................real drop-in !! Thanks
