Eighteen passenger cars on 4 percent grade, no less. Mind blowing!

I can't wait to see if the concor warbaby shell will fit on the kato chassis. If it does, I'm going to order a few more of the kato's to go under my concor shells. Then I can chop the unused kato shells to make skyline casting molds for my P-10's. Also, with MT comming out with their SP overnights runner packs, I can get a couple of overnight fast freights running with my MT-1 and/or a GS-4. Ah, things are comming together for the SP lines!! Now to justify to my wife why I need 4 kato GS-4's

Well... don't you think that mayyyybbbbbeeeee... Kato will use the same platform for their own War-Baby? I know... I know... don't hold your breathe for Kato releases... but it sure would seem a waste to kill-off a bunch of these GS-4's.

That was an impressive video... 4% grade AND it is curved to boot.

Mars light looks a little funky though... don't you think it's a little to 'flashy' looking?

This is the proper way to design and build a loco . This is an honest way to promote them for reserve . Kato gets my hard to earn respect on this one . Bravo Kato . Too bad I can't use this though .

    I am glad i ordered one, only got the 10 cars...thought 18 would look stupid on a 4x8 layout...but....

I have been really impressed with everything I have gotten from kato. I just got a NW2 switcher and man is that thing smooth at low speeds!!

So do you think 18 cars will be too much for a 4x8 layout??

Too much for my reverse loops. Twelve would be pushing it.

not if you expand the layout!
no is the time to expand. a nice long passenger train flowing along the tracks around the room! (or garage?, or basement?, or backyard?, or at the model railroad club?)

If Walthers had posted as much information and video of the 0-8-0 as Kato has for the GS4 a lot of us might not have bought them.

Yeah... so I'm upgrading to 5'x9'.

Seriously though, I was planning on getting a Daylight diesel on ebay. Con-Cor and Kato ones show up frequently... PA-1s and E8s. But then Kato offered a second GS-4 with a different road number (March - April), so I ordered that.

Now Kato needs to offer a second observation car and baggage car with a different road numbers.

Might be... But damn is it beautiful at the full 18 car length!!

You can expect me to get the full train eventually. Though I may not have a layout big enough for the full train.. I think a static foot wide by train long display will be just as good.

I went with 14 cars as a reasonable compromise (the Daylight did run with fewer cars in low traffic periods anyway).
