Ok, since no one has put up any kitbashed or kitmingled structures, I’ll start it off with my kitbashed church. I needed a church to represent one in my hometown. The problem was that it had an annex added to it at one point. In fact, most people now seem to enter from the parking lot using the Annex. There just weren’t any kits like I needed until one day I found an old Tyco (from the better times) church that could work as the main structure. I bought it against the day I could figure out how to use it and then I spotted a Bachmann snap together church kit in a hobby shop. Here was the annex that I needed. If I were to cut and fit, I would have a building that could represent the church that I needed. The colors were wrong on both churches, but a little paint took care of that after they became one structure. I added interior lighting and mounted it in the city where it sits today. Here are 3 shots of it.
Excellent work, Roger. It's great to see something other than lineside-style structures being modified to suit a specific site or prototype. Gary.
That is a great looking church. LIke Ironhorseman said, I have yet to build anything scratch except a couple of small tresles.
It's good to see your entry Roger. A great structure to include in a layout. A church is always the highlight of a town/city and the RR station comes next. Hope this entry will get more kit bashers and kit builders to enter.
