I am going to La Grange in aug. All day trip. What kind of traffic is running on the short line. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your help, And have fun railfanning!!!
The Short Line probably does 25-30 trains a day through LaGrange. They all slow down to 10 MPH to go through town on Main Street. A siding is just east, railroad north of town. East of town you can check out the view from the Spahn Road overpass that is just past the other end of the siding. If you get bored at LaGrange, the Ford Kentucky Truck Plant usually has some train activity. The plant is connected to the Short Line at CP O'Bannon along Rte 146 on the far eastern side of Louisville.
