Kansas City will host through 8 am tomorrow (6/16) the largest steam engine it operated and several passenger cars at historic union station and then the train will go to St. Louis. I went down this morning and it was quite a sight! [IMG]

Tigerman, was this #3985? There's been some great pictures posted in some of the forums here of articulated locomotives, thankfully this one is still alive. Closest steam action from here (Fallon NV) are V&T locomotives at Carson City and Virginia City. Not nearly as large as this. Take care, Bobby

Bobby .. I understand that there's a movement to link up Carson City and Virginia City via the old right of way. Any further news on that? That would be a great ride! :D

Hi all, sadly, I don't think it'll happen. Much of the right of way in the Carson city area has been developed as the city grew. The square roundhouse is gone and the museum is not gonna have an easy time finding a way out of Carson City. It just wasn't on the radar when the city started growing. It'd take a massive cash infusion to get any farther than it is now,and the political will is'nt extant. Thankfully there is a group of folks working to preserve what's left.Sorry it's not good news, take care, Bobby
