Well, I've finally gotten off the butt and started modeling again. Sorry for the picture quality but I don't have my regular camera.

This is a BN B30-7 from their second production run. I used a B30-7 shell as opposed to the B23-7 shell for the first production run units. The dynamic brake housing was about the hardest thing to build. [IMG]

The dynamic blister was made from styrene and the DB cooling intakes from an SD60 and some radiator mesh off a B30-7 shell.

The number boards are too low on the stock shell so I filled in the old ones and added new ones.

Next up will be to scribe panel lines in the DB housing and over the styrene cover where the cab was.

This was my first one. It is just a B23-7 shell with modified front numberboards and styrene over the cab area.

Awesome!! That looks really nice. The paint looks really crisp. I need to learn to kitbash stuff like that because I really want to make a GN SDP40 and a SDP45. My problem is that I don't know where to even begin on something like this and am terrified at cutting up a nice shell. I probably just need to tear apart an old junker engine and just start hackin away. Does anyone have a website where they describe the process of sawing up a model and how/what you do to get the finished product to look the way you want? I am assuming you use modeling putty and sand everything down to make the added styrene look seamless from the original model. Any help would be appreciated in getting started in the right direction. Joe
