    Hi everyone,
I've been mulling around in my head about building a late 1800s' to early 1900's logging abd bush railway layout. I would like to attempt to build all of the buildings myself off some plans that I have but am not sure how to agjust for the HO scale. I also have no definite plans on the way the layout would look like.
Any adivce would be most helpful. Before I forget I have a space that is 22 feet long by about 6 feet wide. any suggestions?

    Sounds like a great space!

For a general look at logging layouts, try a search on the Internet for Paul Templar's layouts. He has done many, in several scales, all with a logging theme. He is a frequent contributer to several industry magazines.

For your plans - you need a scale ruler! That's it. Just read the dimensions of the plans, and then measure with the scale ruler. If you do not want to get a scale ruler, then take your dimension off the plan, and divide by 87 to get the measurement for the HO item - e.g. a real 4-6-2 loco is 87 feet long. That means that the HO scale model will be 1 (real) foot long.

Hope that helps. Keep us up to date!
