    Get the file out. I had a similar problem that I just could not explain but I found that the micro switch on the Bullfrog was not switching over every time. A simple adjustment to better insure the micro switch changes polarity took care of it. It always seemed to only happen when approaching from the frog side rather than the point side.

    But I still don't have the frog polarized with the switch on the Bullfrog.

    It only happens with my only KATO SD70M, when she enter the turnout from the point side.

    What can be happening?

    Yesterday I have been finishing the card web on the left side. While I am waiting for a tunnel portal (I could scratch build one, but I don't want to), I will start building a curved trestle bridge for the left curve over the road.

    I am going to follow Joe Fugate's directions to do it, but I am not sure about the correct size for the post, sway brace. I mean, what should I use?

    Is the 1.5 x 1.5 mm (.060 x .060") good for the post and cap? And what about the Braces and everything else?

    I am not afraid to get my hands on this, but all the info I get is through Books and DVD's and I never been to the USA...

    Thanks.

    Some more work photos:

    All the cables are done!

    Bridge abutments molds in place. Bridge will be built in Evergreen:

    Tape was painted in dark brow. It was the paint I had at the moment!

    For this side I am still waiting for the Tunnel Portal. I could scrtah build one, but I want one fist, then I'll start to scratch.

    I hope you enjoy.

    Cheers!

    Hi Evreyone.

    Today started to build my Trestle Bridge using Joe Fugate awsome tips.

    Started by tracing in a piece of paper the track, and marking the distance between the bents around 10 scale foot.
    [IMG]
    Also cuted some styrene sleeper suport and also some sleepers. Glued down one third of the bridge, using Tamiya's Extra Thin cement.

    Started to build one bent to rest for the sleepers, using a plan I found using Google. Built a jig, and layed down the styrene.

    Here is what I have done today.

    The sleepers are not ligned up, but working in this scale and beeing my first scratchbuilding project, it is not easy, but I hope I can correct it.

    Cheers!

    Hi all.

    Here are the progress photos of this week.

    First was to give a first coat of a gray paint, thinned with water, to look more like a stain, to the tunnel portal and wing walls.

    [IMG]

    I have done this tunnel portal job, while the paint was drying on the layout. I have been correcting the profile of the terrain. This photo is showing here the tunnel portal was going to.

    Here I removed a bit of cardboard strips.

    Today, in the morning, I started to apply the vermiculite mixture, but I mixed my own recepie:

    3 parts de plaster;
    1 part Portland cement;
    2 parts fine vermiculite;
    1 teespoon of baking powder.
    I mixed it with water to a soft ice cream look.

    After applying, I softned it misting with water and with my fingers. Some photos:

    Here with tunnel portal in place.

    Now it must dry, because it may shrink. If so, I will correct it with patching plaster.

    Looking good Luis,

    I add Celluclay to my mix and it greatly slows the drying(days) and no cracks. I can never find the fine Vermeculite and it sure looks better than the big stuff I have. I no longer add it though have many spots where it is still open to viewing. I guess I should order some through the mail.

    Looks like some sereous fun is about to begin.

    Keep us posted.

    That will be a fun layout to railfan on. Looking forward to seeing the bridge.

    Hi.

    I just would like to say that this layout is no more since 2010.

    My life changed a lot since then...

    Cheers.

    That's too bad. I like the pictures you had of scenery construction. Very helpful for reference. I will have to try and make use of those methods.
