I have been building my layout the past 4 years and have yet to name it. Although I say I model UP I'm really a closet freelancer. I like to operate the following railroads UP, SP, DRG&W and BNSF 1970's to present. I run mainly grain (my layout has a grain terminal) with through traffic and a future intermodal terminal.

    Here is the challenge

Have a good look at my website then see if you can think of a name for my layout.
The winner will get his name on my site for naming it and will have total access to the layout providing he can aford the airfare lol unless GATS chooses it but he already has access lol.

    good luck

How about the "UP and Southern" or the UP and Devil's Gate"?? I'll probably come up with others, but these are just off the top right now. By the way, I don't remember if I complimented you on your site and layout but they are both GREAT!! Happy Modeling!!

Since you're about as far away from Connecticut and still be on the planet, I would be happy to share my road's name with you: Delaide Laight & Wrekked
Say it out loud, you'll get the idea.

    Pat,
I'd have to say the layout is based on a town that has gran terminals and a large yard. I was thinking somewhere in the mid west or closer to Chicago. As I said I run mainly UP, SP and DRG&W.
The are needs to have a 2% grade.

Pat I really like the sub-division scenario and like Johns- Devils Gate so how does

Union Pacific Devils Gate Sub-division sound?

named after the notorious train wreck on Devils Gate bridge when a UP Bigboy careered out of control and crashed on the downhill grade.

I'm considering naming my layout Union Pacific-Council Bluff subdivision as I live in Kearns and Kearney is a town in Nebraska that UP passes through.
My layout loosely depicts that area where grain is the main commodity. also not far from Kearney is the Sidney subdivision since i live in Sydney it has a little familiarity.

    Perfect Paul!
The only missing part is a Trackage Rights through Iowa via Des Moines and Davenport, to reach Chicago, and thereby meet the CEE line.
Now NARA cover the midwest also. Great!
