That's just solid BN, no predecessor roads. I have about half that total in Great Northern/Northern Pacific alone. I just now realized my fleet is larger than previously thought!
Not much of a yard... One back track, that will eventually be lined with building flats, a pair of storage thru tracks, a stub storage track, and a runaround. Heck, the hidden staging area is more of a yard than my real yard is! A double-ended yard would cost a fortune in Peco turnouts, and eat space--something I'm very short on. The 'yard' is basically only for local makeup/breakup. The trains you see occupy both mainline tracks, the back track, the stub track, runaround, and both storage tracks. 7 tracks total.
Here is a panoramic view, 62 locos and 250 cars. I couldn't fit any more in the photo! All BN, no former or latter roads in the pic. A few close-up views to show a bit more detail: Even the ready tracks are full! [ 09. August 2004, 05:51: Message edited by: doofus ]
Instead of a large number of cars from one railroad, how about one car from over a dozen railroads. When TrailerTrain was first starting up, they painted one autorack with over a dozen railroad roadnames and heralds to show how TrailerTrain was owned by so many railroads. ("There's a prototype for it.")
I hear that quite often about my fleet! Here is a list of units in the pic: 13 C30-7s, 14 U30-Cs, 2 U25-Bs, 2 F-9s, 1 GP-20, 5-SD-9s, 3 GP-30s, 2GP-39Es, 2 SD-45s, 3 SD-40-2s, 4 SD-60Ms, 3 SD-60s, 6 SD-70MACs, and 2 C-636s. And for some extra credit- 2 ROCO FA-1s. These are little jewels.
Good stuff, Doofus! With that much motive power, I'm surprised to see you have only 3 SD40-2's out of the 838 BN rostered...
Still no layout for my Lighting Stripes otherwise I might have made a major showing for my beloved RR...
